From Governance of Procedures to Reliable Outcomes: Jouf University President Launches “Rasid” Service to Advance Digital Transformation and Enhance the Efficiency of Final Examination Management

The President of Jouf University Inaugurates the “Rasid” Service

In a significant step reflecting Jouf University’s commitment to accelerating digital transformation, strengthening institutional governance, and enhancing the quality of academic services, University President Prof. Dr. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Shaya’ launched “Rasid”, an integrated electronic service developed by the University’s Deanship of Admission and Registration to manage final examination procedures. The service provides a comprehensive digital framework covering the assignment of examination supervision and invigilation duties, examination administration and documentation, and the recording, review, and approval of grades, thereby enhancing the efficiency, accuracy, and reliability of academic operations.

The launch represents a continuation of the University’s efforts to modernize its academic and administrative systems and leverage innovative digital solutions to streamline procedures, improve operational efficiency, and enhance service quality. These efforts align with the objectives of the University’s strategic plan in digital transformation and institutional excellence, while contributing to Saudi Vision 2030, particularly in advancing government performance, improving digital service efficiency, and enhancing the quality of educational outcomes.

The “Rasid” service marks a significant transition from fragmented traditional procedures to a unified and interconnected digital system. It enables the management of all stages of final examinations through an integrated electronic workflow, reducing time and effort, minimizing paperwork, improving accuracy and transparency, and strengthening coordination among relevant academic and administrative departments.

The service enables the electronic assignment of examination supervision and invigilation duties, clearly defines roles and responsibilities, and allows supervisors and invigilators to access their assigned tasks and course sections. It also facilitates examination management, electronic documentation of student attendance and absence, and the recording of examination-related incidents and observations, thereby promoting procedural discipline and improving the efficiency of monitoring and supervision.

Furthermore, the service provides a fully integrated electronic workflow for recording, reviewing, and approving student grades. The process begins with faculty members entering and verifying grades before submitting them to the relevant department chair for review and approval. Where necessary, grades may be returned for correction, ensuring procedural integrity, minimizing potential errors, and strengthening the reliability of academic results.

A key feature of “Rasid” is its comprehensive electronic governance and monitoring framework, built on clearly defined roles and responsibilities, segregation of duties among implementation, review, and approval functions, data protection and confidentiality, and the electronic traceability of procedures and modifications. The system also provides monitoring reports and performance indicators to measure progress, identify incomplete procedures, and track compliance with established deadlines, supporting data-driven decision-making, accountability, and continuous improvement.

The significance of this initiative extends beyond the automation of examination procedures to its direct contribution to the quality of the educational process. By improving the academic environment, enhancing assessment efficiency, and strengthening the governance of grade recording and approval processes, “Rasid” helps institutionalize a culture of quality and excellence, supports the University’s efforts to sustain its academic accreditation achievements, and reinforces its institutional competitiveness.

In this context, University President Prof. Dr. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Shaya’ emphasized that digital transformation at Jouf University represents a strategic direction for advancing institutional operations rather than merely replacing paper-based procedures with electronic alternatives. He noted that the true value of digital transformation lies in its impact on performance quality, service efficiency, the reliability of outcomes, and the overall experience of beneficiaries.

He further explained that “Rasid” embodies this strategic direction by establishing an integrated digital system that strengthens the governance of final examinations, standardizes procedures, and enhances data accuracy and operational transparency. He reaffirmed the University’s commitment to investing in technological solutions that advance its academic and administrative environment, empower its personnel to perform their responsibilities efficiently and effectively, and achieve its strategic objectives in academic and institutional excellence.

The launch of “Rasid” reflects Jouf University’s continued commitment to implementing high-impact digital initiatives that move beyond service automation toward developing interconnected, measurable, and continuously improvable institutional systems. By optimizing resource utilization and reinforcing the principles of governance and quality, the initiative underscores the University’s dedication to building a more efficient, transparent, and reliable digital academic environment that supports institutional excellence and delivers sustainable educational impact.
