His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Nawaf bin Abdulaziz Honors Jouf University for Its Outstanding Participation in the Third International Agricultural Forum

His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Nawaf bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Al-Jouf Region – may God protect him – honored Jouf University for its active and distinguished participation in the Third Al-Jouf International Agricultural Forum, which commenced with the participation of government, research, and private entities from inside and outside the Kingdom, in addition to a select group of experts, investors, and academics specializing in agriculture, biotechnology, and agricultural innovation.

The recognition shield was received by His Excellency the University President, Prof. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Shaya, who extended his sincere appreciation and deep gratitude to His Highness the Governor for this honor, which represents a strong motivation for the University and its members to continue pursuing excellence and expanding academic, research, and community contributions that support agricultural development, agricultural investment, technological innovation, and the advancement of applied research outcomes that enhance the competitiveness of the agricultural sector in Al-Jouf.

Third International Agricultural Forum

The University’s participation in the accompanying exhibition was represented by the College of Science and the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Directorate. At the University booth, Dr. Ibtisam Al-Anzi, Director of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, showcased the University’s research and innovation capabilities, including research centers, the central laboratory, and entrepreneurship programs that support innovation, in addition to highlighting major studies and research conducted by University scholars in agricultural fields.

The College of Science also presented agricultural, chemical, and biological experiments, along with a display of the Ecosphere platform, in addition to contributions by faculty members from the College through panel discussions and public lectures within the Forum.

Over two days, the University participated through specialized scientific sessions and research-focused discussions addressing major contemporary agricultural issues and exploring future solutions to enhance the competitiveness of the agricultural sector in Al-Jouf and the Kingdom overall. Several University faculty members contributed through presentations and lectures aligned with current research and agricultural needs, offering scientific perspectives on existing challenges:

In the session titled Agricultural Investments: Challenges and Opportunities, Dr. Bassam Al-Owaish presented a scientific paper titled The Agricultural Advantages of Al-Jouf Region, highlighting its unique agricultural strengths, soil and climate characteristics, and production expansion opportunities supported by modern agricultural standards.

In the session on Modern Technologies and Artificial Intelligence in Agriculture, Dr. Raja Al-Jarbaoui delivered an advanced scientific presentation on the potential use of modern technologies in biological control.

 In a specialized session, Dr. Tarek Saif Al-Nasr presented on Recycling to Enhance Food and Economic Security, discussing the role of agricultural waste recycling in providing alternative energy sources, reducing costs, and increasing farmers’ profitability.

Dr. Naif Al-Muaiqel delivered a lecture titled Date-Based Manufacturing Industries, exploring the industrial prospects of the local date sector in Al-Jouf and modern manufacturing applications that transform dates into high-value products.

Dr. Amal Asran presented a research lecture titled The Role of Biological Farming Technologies in Improving Crop Productivity in Al-Jouf Region, discussing advancements in biological agriculture and its role in supporting food security and enhancing agricultural production systems.

For his part, His Excellency Prof. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Shaya expressed his pride in this recognition, affirming that it serves as a strong incentive for the University and its members to pursue greater excellence and expansion in academic, research, and service initiatives. He also emphasized that the University’s participation in the Third International Agricultural Forum aligns with its strategic goals in supporting agricultural development, agricultural investment, technological innovation, and the advancement of applied research outcomes that strengthen agricultural competitiveness in Al-Jouf.

Through this distinguished participation, Jouf University reinforces its academic and research presence within one of the region’s most vital sectors. Supported by this esteemed recognition, the University continues its journey in advancing agricultural development through its active scientific role, contribution to specialized scholarly dialogue, and delivery of research-based insights and proposals that enhance production methods, improve crop quality, and support agricultural processing industries—further strengthening Al-Jouf’s position as one of the Kingdom’s leading agricultural regions.
