HRH the Prince of Al-Jouf Region inaugurates and lays the foundation stones for five major projects at Jouf University, in the presence of the Minister of Education and the President of Jouf University.
His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Nawaf bin Abdulaziz, Prince of Al-Jouf Region, inaugurated five development and improvement projects at Jouf University, in the presence of His Excellency the Minister of Education, Yousef bin Abdullah Al-Benyan, and the President of Jouf University, Prof. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Shaya. With a total value exceeding SAR 153 million, the projects included the inauguration of completed facilities and the laying of foundation stones for new projects, as part of the University’s ongoing efforts to develop its infrastructure, enhance the quality of its educational and research environment, improve operational efficiency, and enrich the overall university experience.
The projects include the inauguration of the Preparatory Year Building for Female Students, at a cost exceeding SAR 90 million. The building contributes to providing an integrated educational environment that supports the quality of the academic process, accommodates students’ needs, and enhances the services and facilities available to them.
The projects also include the inauguration of the Solar Power Generation Project using photovoltaic panels, with an estimated market value of approximately SAR 40 million. The project represents an important step toward strengthening the University’s commitment to environmental sustainability, improving energy efficiency, and utilizing renewable energy solutions in the operation of campus facilities, in line with the Kingdom’s objectives to diversify energy sources and reduce carbon emissions.
His Royal Highness also laid the foundation stone for the Infrastructure and Public Areas Development Project serving a number of the University’s colleges, at a cost of SAR 17,593,236. The project aims to enhance the readiness and efficiency of university facilities and develop supporting sites and services, creating a more integrated and high-quality campus environment.
The project portfolio also includes the laying of the foundation stone for the Health Colleges Laboratories Project, at a cost of SAR 4,137,297. The project will support applied education and practical training, enhance laboratory readiness, contribute to developing students’ skills, improve the quality of health-program outcomes, and prepare qualified national talent to meet the needs of the healthcare sector.
In addition, the foundation stone was laid for Phase Two of the Campus Humanization Project, at a cost of SAR 1,987,372. The project aims to develop public spaces and create a more vibrant and attractive university environment that enhances quality of life and supports social interaction and student activities across the campus.
President of Jouf University, Prof. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Shaya, affirmed that the inauguration and groundbreaking of these projects reflect the generous support extended by the wise leadership to the higher education sector. He expressed his appreciation for the care and support of HRH the Prince of Al-Jouf Region and for the Minister of Education’s continued follow-up of the University’s projects and development programs.
The University’s projects are guided by the objectives of its strategic plan, which places students and the quality of educational outcomes at the forefront of its priorities. The plan seeks to build a sustainable university ecosystem that fosters excellence and innovation, keeps pace with national transformation, and contributes effectively to achieving the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
