Jouf University President, Prof. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Shaya, met with the deans of the University’s health, and engineering colleges in a meeting dedicated to discussing a number of academic and developmental priorities related to university leadership, enhancing the competitiveness of academic programs, and improving the quality of educational outcomes. The meeting also reviewed the colleges’ preparations for readiness assessments and mechanisms for improving student performance.

The meeting highlighted the importance of working according to clear performance indicators that measure the quality of academic outcomes and strengthen colleges’ ability to review and analyze student results and translate them into practical development plans. Such plans are intended to enhance the educational process, improve academic achievement and specialized skills, and ultimately strengthen graduates’ readiness and competitiveness in the labor market.

Prof. Al-Shaya emphasized that university leadership is not built on indicators and rankings alone, but begins with the quality of education, the effectiveness of academic outcomes, and the ability of academic programs to create a tangible impact on students and graduates. He stressed that readiness assessments are an important tool for measuring program effectiveness, identifying opportunities for improvement, and strengthening alignment between curricula, learning outcomes, and the skills required of graduates.

He also stressed the importance of colleges treating readiness assessments as an ongoing institutional process, beginning with the analysis of previous years’ results, identifying areas of strength and opportunities for improvement, and developing implementation plans that support students from an early stage through academic reviews, mock assessments, enrichment and support programs, and the regular monitoring of performance indicators.

The meeting also discussed the role of the health, science, and engineering colleges in strengthening the University’s standing and competitiveness through the continued development of academic programs, promoting skills- and application-based learning, aligning educational outcomes with labor market needs, advancing research and innovation, and equipping students with the professional and specialized skills required for success after graduation.

The University President directed that greater integration be achieved among the colleges and relevant academic entities, with unified models developed for monitoring and measuring readiness, and data more effectively utilized in development-oriented decision-making. He also emphasized the importance of sharing best practices among colleges to ensure that performance indicators are translated into measurable improvement initiatives.

Prof. Al-Shaya affirmed that the University will continue to support its colleges and academic programs and provide them with the academic and technological tools and enablers needed to enhance educational quality, strengthen excellence in outcomes, and achieve advanced levels of efficiency and competitiveness. He noted that students and the quality of their educational experience remain at the heart of all development and improvement efforts.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the University President emphasized that the next phase requires greater focus on results and impact, as well as a strong spirit of teamwork, to further embed a culture of readiness and academic excellence, enhance the performance of students and graduates, and strengthen Jouf University’s position among leading universities in educational quality, outcome efficiency, and academic competitiveness.
