As part of the Renewable Energy Forum 2025, Jouf University, signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Al Jouf Chamber of Commerce and organized a panel discussion titled “Renewable Energy and Sustainable Development: Opportunities and Challenges.”

Jouf University, represented by the College of Engineering, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Al Jouf Chamber of Commerce as part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen community partnerships and align educational outcomes with labor market needs. The MoU aims to enhance cooperation in the fields of renewable energy and sustainability, in line with the university’s strategic goals and the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.

This MoU reflects Jouf University’s commitment to institutional excellence through strategic partnerships with public and private sector organizations, in support of national development and the Kingdom’s ambitious vision. The MoU was signed by Dr. Majed bin Abdulrahman Al-Zara’a, Dean of the College of Engineering, and Dr. Hamdan bin Abdullah Al-Samreen, Chairman of the Al Jouf Chamber of Commerce.

The memorandum aims to:
1.    Strengthen integration between academic knowledge and practical applications by aligning student projects with local market needs.
2.    Support innovation and entrepreneurship among engineering students by providing an encouraging environment for research and development in renewable energy fields.
3.    Develop students’ skills and prepare them for the labor market through practical training and specialized workshops in collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce.
4.    Promote the culture of sustainability and renewable energy within the university and local community through joint awareness events and exhibitions.

In addition, as part of the Renewable Energy Forum, Jouf University organized a panel discussion titled “Renewable Energy and Sustainable Development: Opportunities and Challenges.” The session was moderated by Dr. Mishari bin Dhaifallah Al-Enezi, Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Jouf University

The panel featured a number of experts and specialists who shared engineering insights on the future of renewable energy and the technologies that support it. The session also highlighted the latest innovations in the field. This panel discussion is part of a series of activities and initiatives through which the university aims to raise awareness, promote a culture of sustainability, and activate the role of scientific research in addressing national issues.
