Memorandum of Understanding with the Saudi Aviation Club

In a significant step reflecting Jouf University’s commitment to expanding its national partnerships and advancing its research and technological programs, the University signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Saudi Aviation Club. The agreement aims to strengthen cooperation in the fields of aviation, space, and future technologies, and to support the development of national capabilities in this vital sector.

The signing ceremony took place in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud—may Allah protect him—where the MoU was signed by His Excellency Prof. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Shaya, President of Jouf University, and His Excellency Dr. Ahmed bin Fahd Al-Faheed, General Supervisor of the Saudi Aviation Club.

This MoU provides a practical framework for building strategic partnerships between the University and national aviation institutions, contributing to the advancement of scientific research, the development of modern technologies, the empowerment of innovation, and the preparation of qualified professionals in the fields of aviation and space.

The MoU aligns with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030, which places strong emphasis on the aviation and space sectors as promising engines of the knowledge economy and key drivers of technological transformation in the Kingdom.

The Memorandum of Understanding between Jouf University and the Saudi Aviation Club aims to achieve the following:

  • Support joint research and technical activities in aviation, space, and advanced technologies.
  • Enhance the innovation ecosystem and empower value-driven entrepreneurial projects.
  • Develop and qualify human and technical cadres, increasing their readiness for the labor market in aviation and space fields.
  • Exchange knowledge and technical expertise to support the development of academic and training programs.
  • Utilize available facilities and equipment on both sides to achieve mutual benefits and support joint projects.
  • Support scientific publishing and specialized events in aviation, space, and innovation.

This MoU represents a significant addition to the University’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its presence in science, engineering, and aviation—through enabling an advanced research environment, supporting projects of national priority, and developing training pathways and practical programs that offer students greater opportunities to engage with promising sectors.

It also aligns with the University’s strategic objectives, which include:

  • Enhancing the research and innovation ecosystem,
  • Developing high-impact national partnerships,
  • Aligning educational outputs with labor market needs,
  • Strengthening the University’s role in supporting future technologies.

On this occasion, His Excellency Prof. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Shaya, President of Jouf University, expressed his pride in this distinguished partnership, praising the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Sultan bin Salman—may God preserve him—and his constant support for the development of the aviation and space sectors in the Kingdom.

His Excellency added:
“The signing of this MoU with the Saudi Aviation Club reflects Jouf University’s direction toward expanding strategic partnerships and supporting research and innovation programs in promising national sectors. We remain committed to enhancing the University’s role in future technologies and preparing qualified competencies capable of contributing to building a sustainable knowledge economy, in alignment with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.”

He emphasized that this partnership will contribute to providing high-quality research and training opportunities for students and staff, empowering high-impact entrepreneurial initiatives, and strengthening the University’s position as a stimulating environment for science, knowledge, and innovation.
