Overview
The mechanical engineering department awards a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering, which is offered full-time day-time on campus starting from 08:00 am up to 16:00 pm with traditional lecture/laboratory education. The academic semester in the program is 15 weeks with a lecture/tutorial/laboratory time of 50 minutes followed by scheduled final examinations. The mechanical engineering department also conducts a two-month summer semester to enhance the students’ practical experience. The student can join the program after passing the common first year for the engineering science track. The department council determines annually the number of students who can be admitted to the program based on the carrying capacity and the GPA. In order to be granted the bachelor of science degree, it is necessary for the student to successfully complete 162 credit units distributed as following: Total University Requirements = 31 Credit Hours Total College Requirements = 46 Credit Hours Total Department Requirements = 85 Credit Hours
