Jouf University President Hosts Students Who Served Pilgrims and Commends Their National and Humanitarian Contributions During Hajj 1447H

His Excellency the President of Jouf University, Prof. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Shaya, hosted the university team that participated in serving the Guests of Allah during the Hajj season of 1447H, including members of the university’s Scout Team as well as students from the Colleges of Medicine and Nursing. The gathering was attended by several academic and administrative leaders of the university, during which His Excellency expressed his pride and appreciation for the outstanding efforts demonstrated by the students in serving pilgrims and embodying the national and humanitarian values that form the foundation of the university’s mission.

During the meeting, His Excellency reviewed a presentation highlighting the university’s participation in the Hajj season and the remarkable outcomes achieved in serving the Guests of Allah. More than 80 student volunteers from the university’s Scout Team and health-related disciplines took part in providing volunteer, healthcare, guidance, and awareness services across multiple field locations, contributing more than 12,500 volunteer hours. This represents one of the university’s largest annual volunteer initiatives carried out under its national and community engagement programs.

The University President emphasized that the students’ contributions reflect the true spirit of Saudi youth, who embody the values of generosity, belonging, and responsibility. He noted that they successfully translated the knowledge, skills, and values acquired through their university education into meaningful practices that serve society and contribute to national development goals.

His Excellency stated that serving the Guests of Allah is a great honor bestowed upon this blessed nation and praised the exceptional efforts undertaken by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud—may Allah preserve them—in caring for pilgrims and facilitating the performance of their rituals. He described these efforts as a global model of excellence in management, organization, and humanitarian care.

He further noted that Jouf University’s participation in this national mission stems from its social responsibility and educational mission, as well as its commitment to empowering students to contribute effectively to major national initiatives, fostering a culture of volunteerism, and strengthening their connection to their country and community.

His Excellency explained that the university views volunteer work as a key pathway to building well-rounded student personalities and reinforcing the values of citizenship, belonging, and responsibility. He stressed that the achievements realized during the Hajj season reflect the university’s success in translating its strategic objectives into impactful initiatives that directly benefit society.

He added that this participation aligns with several goals of the university’s strategic plan, particularly those related to community engagement, leadership development, experiential learning, and the creation of sustainable social impact that serves both the nation and society.

During the meeting, the university reviewed the most significant accomplishments of its participation. The Jouf University Scout Team earned 69 awards and recognitions in appreciation of their excellence in field operations, guidance services, organization, and pilgrim support. These honors included medals, certificates, shields, and top-ranking achievements, reflecting the high level of preparation, training, and discipline demonstrated by the university’s students and reinforcing the distinguished reputation of the university’s scouting movement in volunteerism and community service.

His Excellency also praised the contributions of students from the Colleges of Medicine and Nursing, who played an active role in delivering healthcare, awareness, and guidance services to pilgrims and supporting field medical efforts. Their participation showcased professionalism, compassion, and a strong commitment to humanitarian service, reflecting the quality of the university’s academic programs and its ability to prepare competent healthcare professionals equipped with knowledge, skills, and initiative.

The University President emphasized that participation in the Hajj season provides healthcare students with a unique educational and professional experience that enhances their practical competencies and readiness for future careers, while reinforcing the noble humanitarian values associated with healthcare professions, including compassion, service, and teamwork.

He further noted that the achievement of more than 12,500 volunteer hours demonstrates both the scale of the effort invested and the students’ strong belief in the value and impact of volunteer work. It also reflects the university’s success in cultivating a sustainable culture of volunteerism among its students, in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030, which identifies volunteerism as a key national indicator for building a vibrant society and strengthening civic participation.

His Excellency added that these accomplishments exemplify Jouf University’s contribution to achieving national goals through the development of qualified human capital, the promotion of volunteer culture, the empowerment of youth participation in national initiatives, and support for ongoing efforts to enhance the quality of services provided to the Guests of Allah.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the University President expressed his pride in the achievements of the university’s students during the Hajj season, affirming that these accomplishments are a source of pride for the university and its community. He noted that they reflect the university’s growing leadership in volunteerism and social responsibility and reinforce its role as an educational institution dedicated to preparing national talent and developing future leaders capable of serving the Kingdom in various fields.
