September 23 marks the anniversary of the unification of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia by King Abdulaziz – may Allah have mercy on him. It is a commemoration of the unification of our land and our aspirations, and of an ongoing journey of nation-building toward a promising future under Saudi Vision 2030.
Throughout this remarkable journey, the healthcare and pharmaceutical sectors have undergone significant transformation. We have progressed from limited healthcare capabilities during the early years of the Kingdom’s establishment to an integrated healthcare system encompassing world-class medical cities, leading national pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities, and advanced research centers. Today, pharmaceutical security has become an essential component of national security.

The Role of the College of Pharmacy at Jouf University in This Journey
We believe that our role extends beyond the classroom and is reflected in three strategic pillars:

1. Education and Professional Preparation:
Preparing qualified Saudi pharmaceutical professionals who are capable of working efficiently in hospitals, community pharmacies, and pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities, in accordance with the highest international standards.
2. Scientific Research:
Directing research toward serving the Al-Jouf region by studying local medicinal plants and exploring their potential for developing national pharmaceutical preparations, thereby supporting the Kingdom’s efforts toward the localization of the pharmaceutical industry.
3. Community Service:
Organizing awareness campaigns on the safe and appropriate use of medicines, promoting responsible antibiotic use, and providing pharmaceutical consultations to the residents of the region.

National Day reminds us that building a nation is founded upon knowledge, dedication, and hard work. Pharmacy is one of the essential pillars supporting a sustainable healthcare economy, and this is what the College strives to contribute to through its students, research, and community services.
