The World Antibiotic Awareness Week
In line with Jouf University’s commitment to its community role and the achievement of the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030—particularly those related to enhancing quality of life, supporting preventive health, and promoting sustainable health awareness—the College of Dentistry at Jouf University, represented by the Internship Committee and the Community Service Committee, organized an awareness activity in conjunction with The World Antibiotic Awareness Week.
The initiative aimed to raise public awareness of the importance of the safe and responsible use of antibiotics, highlight the risks associated with their misuse without medical consultation, and emphasize their role in increasing antimicrobial resistance. This contributes to protecting public health and promoting sound health practices.
The activity included the provision of health consultations and educational programs based on up-to-date scientific evidence, addressing methods of infection prevention, the importance of adhering to medical guidelines, and strengthening the individual’s role in maintaining personal and community health. This reflects the College of Dentistry’s commitment to actively contributing to preventive healthcare and social responsibility.
This initiative is part of a series of awareness programs implemented by the college in support of the university’s efforts in community service, human capital development, and the enhancement of community partnerships, aiming to achieve a sustainable health impact aligned with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
