Workshop (The Importance of Premarital Screening)
The Student Development Department at the Agency for Female Student Affairs organized, in collaboration with the College of Applied Medical Sciences, a workshop titled "The Importance of Pre-Marital Screening" remotely, presented by Dr. Abu Zarr al-Dardiri. This workshop comes as part of the efforts of the Deanship of Student Affairs at Al-Jouf University to build individual awareness and empower students to learn about prevention and treatment methods.The workshop covered two main axes. The first axis discussed what pre-marital screenings are, through explaining the concept of healthy marriage, early screening before marriage, and the importance of these screenings in maintaining a healthy family. This involved discussing the main reasons that led to the existence of such screenings, aiming to empower students to understand the significance of these tests in detecting infectious diseases to achieve healthy marriages between couples, including the most important tests conducted and their reasons.Meanwhile, the second axis addressed the impact of pre-marital screenings on society. The workshop presenter explained the effect of reducing the spread of genetic or infectious diseases in achieving a healthy life for individuals, as well as the subsequent reduction in the burden of treatment for these diseases on the Ministry of Health.
