Application of environmental isotopes to assess contaminants transport through the vadose zone and possible groundwater contamination in Saudi Arabia
The overall objective of the project is to study the types of groundwater recharge and replenishment sources in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and assess the effects of groundwater pollution using environmental isotope techniques. This national joint project between King Saud University, Saudi Geological Survey, King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology and Al-Jouf University, supported by the International Atomic Energy Agency, falls within the areas of sustainable development, as it aims to ensure the safety of groundwater used for drinking and agricultural purposes.
