President of Jouf University, Prof. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Shaya, Meets with the Student Advisory Council and Affirms: “The Student Voice Is a Partner in Development and Decision-Making”
The President of Jouf University, Prof. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Shaya, met with members of the Student Advisory Council in a meeting held as part of the University’s commitment to strengthening student participation in the development of the university environment and reinforcing their role as active partners in the University’s development journey and in decisions related to their academic and university experience.
The meeting aligns with the objectives of the University’s Strategic Plan, which seeks to enhance the student experience, broaden channels of communication and participation, and strengthen the student voice within the institutional development framework. These efforts contribute to creating a university environment that responds to students’ needs and aspirations while improving the quality of services and programs provided to them.
During the meeting, the University President listened to the Council members’ views, proposals, and observations on a range of topics related to the educational process, university services, student activities and programs, and the overall campus environment. The meeting also included discussions on ideas aimed at enhancing the student experience and increasing students’ engagement in university life.
Prof. Al-Shaya emphasized that the University places students at the heart of its priorities and that ensuring their representation and providing them with opportunities to express their opinions, perspectives, and proposals constitute an important pathway for enhancing institutional performance. He stressed the importance of the Student Advisory Council serving as an effective and sustainable channel for conveying the student voice, addressing students’ concerns and aspirations, and contributing practical solutions and initiatives.
He further noted that building an outstanding university experience extends beyond the development of academic programs and services; it also requires listening to students, understanding their needs, and engaging them in shaping the environment in which they pursue their university journey. He reaffirmed the University’s commitment to transforming constructive proposals and innovative ideas into opportunities for development that enhance student satisfaction, strengthen a sense of belonging, and improve the quality of university life.
The University President also emphasized the importance of strengthening the Council’s role, expanding its engagement with students across the University’s various colleges and academic disciplines, continuously soliciting their views, and developing proposals and initiatives that reflect their aspirations. This approach ensures effective student representation and promotes a culture of dialogue, partnership, and responsibility.
The Student Advisory Council represents one of the key channels of direct communication between Jouf University students and the University leadership. It plays an important role in conveying views and proposals and participating in discussions on issues of priority to students, supporting the University’s aspiration to create a more participatory and impactful student experience and a university environment where the student voice is heard and translated into meaningful development and tangible impact.
