Jouf University: Human Resources Department Organizes Training Program on “Secretarial Work, Office Management, and Development”

As part of its commitment to developing its administrative staff and enhancing their professional competencies in line with its strategic objectives and ambitious plans, Jouf University’s General Administration of Human Resources organized a training program titled “Secretarial Work, Office Management, and Development”, with the participation of a group of university employees working in reception, administration, and center management.

The program aimed to provide participants with essential and advanced knowledge and skills in office management, modern secretarial practices, and administrative development mechanisms, thereby contributing to improving performance efficiency and the quality of services offered within the university.

The program included three integrated training sessions:

  • First session: Focused on modern secretarial skills, the role of secretaries in supporting leaders and departments, written and verbal communication skills, preparation of official correspondence (letters, reports, emails), time and information management, organizing daily tasks using tools such as to-do lists and task management software, and the importance of archiving and organizing information.
  • Second session: Addressed efficient office management and covered the concept and importance of office management in achieving organizational efficiency, its relationship to institutional goals, organizing the work environment, designing an effective office to reduce clutter and boost productivity, managing meetings, and preparing and documenting meeting minutes.
  • Third session: Highlighted the use of technology in secretarial work, including the importance of technology in facilitating administrative tasks, examples of supporting programs and systems (such as Microsoft Office and Google Workspace), practical applications of technology, effective use of email, preparing presentations and spreadsheets, electronic archiving, creating secure and user-friendly digital archiving systems, and tips for protecting sensitive data.

His Excellency the University President, Prof. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Shaya, emphasized that the university places high priority on developing its staff, believing that investing in human capital is the cornerstone of institutional excellence. He stressed that such training programs help build a professional work environment that enhances performance efficiency, keeps pace with institutional transformation requirements, aligns with Saudi Vision 2030, and translates the university’s strategic goals in academic and administrative excellence.

Participants expressed their satisfaction with the program and its practical and scientific content, affirming that the topics addressed reflected their professional needs, enriched their skills, and improved their daily performance. They noted that the training enhanced their ability to handle administrative tasks effectively and boosted their confidence in using modern technology in the workplace.

The General Administration of Human Resources concluded the program by affirming its commitment to continuing to implement more specialized training programs that raise staff competencies, support the quality of institutional work, and strengthen the university’s position as a leading educational institution that meets the requirements of development and innovation.
