Risk Analysis for Exposure Measurements due to Natural Radioactivity in Marble and Granite using RESRAD Computer Code
In the absence of radiation protection measures, naturally occurring radioactive materials (NORM) present in certain building materials, such as marble and granite, can lead to both external and internal radiation exposure for workers in the field and members of the public. Therefore, it is essential to conduct a thorough analysis and characterization of these materials' radiological and chemical content before their use or disposal in the environment. Radium isotopes, specifically Ra-226 and Ra-228, are the most concentrated in these materials.
