His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Nawaf bin Abdulaziz, Prince of Al-Jouf Region, launched today the third phase of the Prince Nawaf bin Abdulaziz Chair for Sustainable Development at Jouf University, in the presence of Jouf University President Prof. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Shaya, under the theme “A Journey Renewed… An Impact Sustained.”

During the launch, His Royal Highness reviewed a report highlighting the Chair’s journey and achievements throughout its first and second phases, including its research, training, and community programs and initiatives, as well as its contributions to capacity building and to strengthening the University’s role in the field of sustainable development.

The third phase is built around three main pillars: Knowledge and Innovation, Partnerships and Outreach, and Impact and Sustainability. This new phase seeks to advance applied scientific research, support innovation and transform knowledge into development solutions, anticipate future issues and challenges, expand strategic partnerships, strengthen scientific presence locally and internationally, and implement high-impact community programs and initiatives, contributing to measurable, scalable, and sustainable development impact.

The third phase builds on the Chair’s journey since its establishment in 2019. Over the previous phases, more than 8,000 beneficiaries have participated in its training and capacity-building programs, while more than 120 workshops and training courses have been delivered. The Chair has also implemented a range of community initiatives and organized and participated in local and international conferences and forums, reflecting the continued development of its role in advancing scientific research, serving the community, and promoting the principles of sustainable development.
