President of Jouf University Receives the Dean, Vice Deans, and Department Heads of the College of Education, Praising Its Achievements and Academic Excellence in Global Rankings
His Excellency the President of Jouf University, Professor Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Shaya, received the Dean of the College of Education, along with the vice deans and department heads, to review the college’s annual report for the academic year 1446 AH. The report highlighted the college’s major achievements reflecting its commitment to providing outstanding education, pioneering research, and effective community service, all in line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
Professor Al-Shaya commended the college’s accomplishments, notably the Master’s Program in Psychological Counseling obtaining accreditation from the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties and its application for international accreditation. He also highlighted the updated curriculum of the Bachelor’s Program in Early Childhood Education, designed in accordance with university standards and labor-market needs, which has now advanced toward national academic accreditation.
In the field of scientific research, the college published 38 peer-reviewed studies in local and international journals, including papers in Q1-ranked journals. The college achieved a 97% research productivity rate, with a 90% citation rate, and 10% of its publications ranked among the top 10% most-cited papers. Furthermore, the college implemented seven funded research projects across diverse areas, promoting innovation in education and psychology.
Regarding community service, the college executed 175 volunteer opportunities involving 473 participants, and organized over 20 specialized community programs and workshops aimed at enhancing students’ and graduates’ skills and connecting them with the job market. It also conducted 12 online specialized training courses covering topics such as educational leadership, psychological counseling for students with special needs, career skills, and modern technologies in counseling. These courses were recorded and made available through the National Volunteer Platform and social media channels to reach students and the wider community.


In terms of partnerships and collaborations, the college signed local and international memoranda of understanding and cooperation agreements to promote academic and research collaboration. Among these were partnerships with the Prince Nawaf bin Abdulaziz Chair for Sustainable Development under the “Your Consultant” initiative to support people with disabilities and their families, as well as collaborations with local schools and kindergartens to enhance graduate employment opportunities and improve field training programs. The college also partnered with developmental and training organizations to deliver specialized programs that address community needs and labor-market requirements.
The report also outlined future strategic plans aimed at reinforcing innovation and accreditation, including:
- Expanding national and international accreditation for all college programs.
- Establishing local and international research and investment partnerships.
- Launching initiatives for patent registration and transforming research projects into innovative products.
- Enhancing academic advising programs and faculty participation in academic and research exchanges.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Professor Al-Shaya expressed his appreciation for the achievements realized, emphasizing that they reflect the collective efforts of the college’s faculty and staff and represent a significant step forward toward the university’s vision of becoming a nationally leading and globally competitive institution in education, research, innovation, and community service.
For his part, the Dean of the College of Education extended his sincere thanks and appreciation to the University President for his continuous support, affirming the college’s dedication to maintaining its trajectory of excellence and fulfilling the university’s strategic plan in alignment with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
