The President of Jouf University, Prof. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Shaya, received the Dean of the College of Nursing, Prof. Abdulkarim bin Fadghash Al-Sharari, along with the College’s vice deans. During the meeting, they reviewed the College of Nursing’s annual report for the 1447 AH academic year, highlighting key performance indicators, academic, research, and community achievements, as well as the College’s targets and development plans for the next phase.

The University President was briefed on the College’s most notable accomplishments throughout the academic year across several areas, including the quality of teaching and learning, scientific research and innovation, community service and volunteer work, administrative development, and governance. The report also highlighted improvements to the educational environment, including upgraded facilities, laboratories, and equipment supporting clinical training and simulation. In addition, the College obtained ISO 9001 compliance certification, while its Bachelor of Nursing program received full program accreditation from the Education and Training Evaluation Commission.

The report also highlighted significant progress in the College’s academic programs, most notably the full program accreditation of the Master of Science in Nursing across all its tracks by the German accreditation agency AHPGS, valid through 2031. The program has been launched with specializations in Emergency and Disaster Nursing, Adult Nursing, Community Health Nursing, and Maternal and Child Health Nursing. The College also continued implementing its Academic Bridging Program and introduced a Bachelor’s degree program in Midwifery, scheduled to launch in the 1448 AH academic year.

In terms of educational outcomes, the College graduated 152 male and female students during the academic year, in addition to 41 students from the first cohort of the employment-linked Patient Care Technician Diploma Program. College graduates achieved a 100% employment rate, while the pass rate in the professional licensure examination reached 95%, reflecting the quality of academic preparation and the alignment of the College’s outcomes with labor market and healthcare sector needs.

In scientific research, the report showed notable growth in research productivity, with more than 112 scientific papers published in peer-reviewed journals indexed in international databases. The number of citations reached 7,628, representing an increase of 218%, while approximately 67 research papers were published in Q1 journals, further strengthening the College’s research standing and the quality of its scholarly output.

In clinical training and professional development, the College expanded its field training activities to 112 training groups, benefiting 614 male and female students across hospitals and healthcare centers in the region. The College also provided its graduates with specialized training opportunities at major specialist hospitals and medical cities, contributing to the development of clinical competencies and enhancing their readiness for professional practice.

The report further highlighted the College’s growing impact in community service and volunteer work. Faculty, staff, and students recorded 42,937 general volunteer hours and more than 9,500 healthcare volunteer hours, benefiting 27,930 individuals. The College also launched the “Rawafid Al-Haram” initiative in partnership with the Saudi Red Crescent Authority, through which 30 students volunteered to serve pilgrims during the 1447 AH Hajj season, contributing a total of 2,160 healthcare volunteer hours. The College also ranked first among the University’s colleges in healthcare volunteering for 2025.

The meeting also addressed the College’s targets for the 1448 AH academic year, which include continued development of infrastructure and the educational environment, launching and activating the Bachelor’s degree program in Midwifery, attracting additional academic talent, strengthening research and innovation indicators, expanding local and international partnerships and professional diploma programs, and increasing the impact of community and volunteer initiatives. The College also aims to maintain its strong graduate performance indicators in professional licensure examinations and employment.

The President of Jouf University commended the balanced growth reflected in the report across the College’s performance, programs, educational outcomes, research activities, and community impact. He emphasized the importance of continuing to enhance the quality of academic programs, strengthen the competitiveness of graduates, expand training opportunities and strategic partnerships, and support research and innovation. He noted that these efforts reinforce the College of Nursing’s role in preparing highly qualified national professionals, serving the healthcare sector, and contributing to the achievement of the University’s objectives and Saudi Vision 2030.

For his part, the Dean of the College of Nursing expressed his appreciation to the University President for the continued support, follow-up, and guidance extended to the College. He affirmed that the College, with the participation of its vice deans, faculty members, staff, and students, will continue building on its achievements, pursuing its future targets, and strengthening its academic, research, and community standing.
