President of Jouf University, Prof. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Shaya, Commends the Achievements of the College of Medicine and Affirms: "Our Accomplishments Embody Our Commitment to the University’s Strategic Plan and Vision 2030"

Prof. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Shaya, President of Jouf University, received the Dean of the College of Medicine, along with the vice deans and department heads, to review the college’s annual report for the academic year 1446 AH, which highlighted a remarkable harvest of academic, research, and community achievements.

At the outset of the meeting, the President expressed his appreciation for the college’s outstanding accomplishments, emphasizing that these successes would not have been possible without the tremendous efforts of its faculty and students.

The report revealed that the college had published 219 scientific papers in prestigious indexed journals, achieving 90% of the targets set by the "SAQR" classification, with a total of 7,593 research citations. Notably, students contributed to no less than 20% of these papers, reflecting the integration of students into research pathways from the early stages of their studies. Commending this achievement, the President stated: “The University is betting on scientific research as a fundamental driver of development and innovation, and the participation of our students in research reflects our belief in the necessity of preparing a new generation of researchers capable of competing globally.”

In the field of graduate studies, the Master’s program in Infection Control achieved a 100% success rate with 17 graduates, while the Master’s in Public Health recorded an 86% success rate, with 51 graduates out of 59. Together, students of both programs published 36 scientific papers in internationally indexed journals. The President stressed that such achievements underscore the strength of the University’s postgraduate programs and their ability to address health and societal challenges, aligning with Vision 2030’s objectives of building a vibrant, healthy, and sustainable society.

The college’s ranking in the Saudi Medical Licensing Examination (SMLE) rose from category "C" to the top of category "B," placing it among the top eighth medical colleges in the Kingdom. This achievement confirms the quality of medical education and clinical training at the University and serves as a testament to its commitment to graduating highly competent physicians who contribute to strengthening the national healthcare system.

The college also recorded unprecedented growth in community service activities, with student participation increasing by 110% and faculty participation by 260% compared to the previous year. A total of 127 volunteer initiatives were carried out, amounting to 23,600 hours of service, including health and awareness campaigns, in addition to producing more than 50 awareness materials distributed through digital platforms.

Students of the college secured 16 first-place awards in various student competitions and executed nearly 100% of the targeted health field initiatives. On the academic development side, the college organized 20 workshops for faculty members covering topics such as examinations, student advising, quality assurance, and the use of artificial intelligence in research and teaching.

The college is also working to complete both local and international accreditation processes for its postgraduate programs, in cooperation with the Education and Training Evaluation Commission locally, and the German AHPGS agency internationally. These efforts further enhance the academic and professional community’s confidence in the quality of the college’s programs.

In conclusion, the President reaffirmed the University’s commitment to supporting the College of Medicine in its ambitious journey, stressing that Jouf University will spare no effort in empowering the college to sustain its leadership. He emphasized that these achievements reflect the University’s broader vision of achieving institutional excellence, fostering an inspiring and attractive learning environment, and preparing national competencies capable of competing on the global stage.
