Jouf University President Receives the Dean of the College of Computer Science to Review the Annual Report

Professor Dr. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Shaya, President of Jouf University, received the Dean of the College of Computer Science, along with the college’s vice deans and department heads, to review the college’s annual report for the academic year 1446 AH. During the meeting, His Excellency reaffirmed the university’s commitment to supporting the college in achieving further qualitative accomplishments that strengthen its local and international standing.

At the outset of the meeting, the President commended the efforts of the college’s faculty and students, noting that the achievements presented reflect the college’s alignment with the university’s strategic plan, which places quality, innovation, and sustainable development at its core. He emphasized that these outcomes translate the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030, which aims to build a knowledge-based economy driven by creativity, technology, and the development of national human capital.

The report highlighted significant accomplishments in research and innovation, including the publication of more than 130 scientific papers in prestigious international journals, earning 3,645 citations. The college also registered six international patents and designs and secured two research awards, further cementing its reputation as a hub of innovation within the university and the Kingdom.

In community engagement, the report noted that the college implemented seven high-impact initiatives in partnership with local institutions, benefiting over 450 individuals. These initiatives included technical workshops, training courses, and awareness campaigns, all of which contributed to enhancing digital literacy and knowledge. Students and faculty contributed over 1,500 hours of volunteer service, underscoring the college’s dedication to social responsibility and the goals of Vision 2030 in building a vibrant society.

In the area of education and learning, student attendance exceeded 95%, while on-time graduation rates ranged between 70% and 88%, reflecting the efficiency of the academic programs. Additionally, 75% of the college’s programs have received programmatic accreditation, with plans to complete accreditation for all programs by next year, demonstrating the college’s commitment to international quality standards and its ability to deliver globally recognized education.

The report also noted the development of a modern digital system for managing cooperative training, which enabled more than 63% of students to participate in successful training programs in collaboration with leading organizations in the labor market. This initiative supports the goals of the Human Capability Development Program, one of Vision 2030’s key national programs, by preparing students for future career environments.
