President of Jouf University, Prof. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Shaya, receives the Dean of the College of Arts, Vice Deans, and Heads of Departments to review the College’s Annual Report

President of Jouf University, Prof. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Shaya, received the Dean of the College of Arts, accompanied by the Vice Deans and Heads of Departments. The meeting was dedicated to presenting the College’s annual report for the academic year 1446 AH, which highlighted achievements in education, research, and community engagement. These included securing academic accreditations, strengthening research excellence, winning international awards, and developing innovative community service programs. Prof. Al-Shaya praised the College’s achievements in research, noting the publication of more than 30 scientific papers in indexed international journals, including six in top-ranked (Q1) journals. He added that the number of student research publications exceeded the annual target. It is also noteworthy that the Bachelor’s Program in Arabic Language is the only program of its kind to obtain academic accreditation. Furthermore, the College achieved 75% of institutional performance indicators, surpassing the set target. Student satisfaction with academic programs reached 4.3 out of 5, with 100% of program development plans completed. The student-to-faculty ratio stood at 1:11, exceeding the benchmark target.

In terms of student activities, the College carried out five community initiatives, offered 180 volunteering opportunities, and recorded 6,867 volunteer hours. It also organized 29 workshops, 16 scientific seminars, and seven training courses for students. Additionally, College students won nine awards across research, arts, and sports, including top places in scientific research competitions, intellectual awareness, artistic talent, and a silver medal in wheelchair basketball.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Prof. Al-Shaya commended the College’s accomplishments, emphasizing that they reflect the dedication and collective efforts of its members, and mark a significant milestone in the University’s journey toward establishing itself as a competitive national model at the global level in education, research, innovation, and community service. For his part, the Dean of the College expressed his sincere gratitude and deep appreciation to the University President for his continuous support and encouragement, reaffirming the College’s commitment to pursuing excellence and contributing to the University’s strategic plan and the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
