President of Jouf University Receives the CEO of the Applied College, His Deputy for Academic Affairs, and Branch Directors, Praising Their Achievements and the Diversity of the College’s Programs
His Excellency the President of Jouf University, Professor Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Shaya, received the Chief Executive Officer of the Applied College, along with the Deputy CEO for Academic Affairs and the branch directors. During the meeting, the college’s annual report for the academic year 1446 AH was reviewed, highlighting a series of distinguished achievements in academic, research, and community fields.
Professor Al-Shaya commended the college’s outstanding accomplishments, noting that they reflect its strategic orientation toward institutional excellence and alignment with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030. The report revealed that the Cybersecurity Program obtained conditional accreditation from the Education and Training Evaluation Commission, while the Sterilization Program was submitted for accreditation — steps that signify the college’s commitment to offering educational and training programs aligned with modern advancements, rapid development, and the evolving needs of local and global labor markets.
The Applied College also achieved notable progress in research and training, publishing three indexed research papers in Scopus and Web of Science (WoS) databases, which received 21 citations, reflecting the quality of its research output.
To enhance the competencies of its staff, the college organized 33 internal training courses and 3 external programs, supporting continuous development and capacity-building initiatives.
In the area of graduate employability and labor-market alignment, the college strengthened partnerships with specialized organizations such as Global Business Solutions and QIMA (Value Solutions), providing applied training opportunities for 126 students. It also focused on integrating academic courses with professional certifications that are in high demand in the job market.
The college launched two flagship initiatives:
- “Muhtarif” (Professional) — aimed at enabling students to obtain accredited professional certifications in their fields, thereby enhancing their readiness for employment.
- “Future Leaders” — designed to develop students’ leadership skills through specialized training programs and community activities.


In the field of community engagement, the college organized over 100 activities, workshops, and volunteer initiatives throughout the year, covering diverse themes such as:
- Intellectual and national awareness (e.g., Saudi National Day celebrations).
- Personal and professional skills development (e.g., résumé writing and interview skills workshops).
- Health, environmental, and cybersecurity awareness programs.
- English language and leadership training programs.
The report also noted a comprehensive review of curricula and academic programs, conducted in collaboration with the Colleges of Engineering, Computer Science, Business, and Applied Medical Sciences, to ensure their content is regularly updated and aligned with workforce requirements.
The college also demonstrated a strong commitment to empowering national talent, achieving 50% female leadership representation, and providing training for 13 administrative employees. Moreover, it advanced blended learning, adopted modern educational technologies, and held specialized workshops and intensive training programs to support digital transformation and enhance staff efficiency.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Professor Al-Shaya affirmed that these accomplishments represent a pioneering step toward realizing the university’s vision of becoming a national model of excellence that meets global standards in education, research, innovation, and community service. He praised the integrated efforts of the college’s team in achieving these milestones.
