Jouf University President Prof. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Shaya met with the presidents and representatives of the University’s general and specialized student clubs. The meeting addressed the current state of student activities, the clubs’ plans and programs, and students’ aspirations to further develop their activities and enhance their impact on the University community and society, in alignment with the University’s strategic objectives and plan.

The meeting brought together representatives of 19 student clubs, including 7 general clubs: the Arts Club, Media Club, Nazaha Club, Technology Club, Scouts Club, Sports Club, and Health Club, in addition to 12 specialized clubs: Friends of Health Club, Etizan Medical Club, Care Club, Artificial Intelligence Club, Student Empowerment and Excellence Club, English Language Club, Laboratory Pioneers Club, Taheel Club, Soft Eng Club, College of Dentistry Club, Tadawi Club, and Justice Club.

During the meeting, the University President listened to students’ views, proposals, and the initiatives and programs being implemented by the clubs across cultural, media, technical, health, sports, arts, and specialized fields. He emphasized the importance of moving student clubs beyond the traditional concept of extracurricular activities and transforming them into dynamic platforms for discovering talent, developing skills, creating initiatives, and fostering leadership, teamwork, and innovation among students.

Prof. Al-Shaya stressed that students are at the heart of the educational process and its ultimate purpose, noting that the university experience extends beyond academic achievement to developing well-rounded personalities and empowering students to assume leadership, creative, and community roles. He also highlighted the importance of creating an environment that gives students greater space to generate ideas and turn them into high-quality initiatives with tangible impact.

He further emphasized the importance of aligning student club plans with the University’s strategic objectives, developing indicators to measure the impact of their programs, and strengthening integration between the clubs, colleges, deanships, and relevant entities. Such efforts, he noted, would contribute to improving the quality of activities, broadening their reach, and leveraging the diversity of students’ disciplines and skills to create more innovative and sustainable programs and projects.

The University President also directed efforts toward increasing student participation in the design and implementation of initiatives, supporting creative and high-quality ideas, and expanding opportunities for talented students and initiative leaders. This approach aims to make student clubs incubators for creativity, platforms for developing future skills, and a bridge between academic knowledge and practical application.

The meeting reflects Jouf University’s commitment to enhancing the quality of university life, empowering students, and developing the ecosystem of student activities and clubs as a key enabler in shaping students’ personalities, discovering and refining their abilities, and strengthening their participation in serving their University, community, and nation—toward a richer, more impactful, and sustainable university experience.
