College of Nursing at Jouf University Launches “Nabd” Initiative to Prepare First-Year Students Academically and Professionally

The College of Nursing at Jouf University, represented by the Academic and Student Advising Unit, launched the “Nabd” Initiative targeting first-year nursing students (male section) during the second semester of the 1447 AH academic year. The initiative comes as part of the College’s ongoing efforts to support newly admitted students academically, psychologically, and professionally.

The initiative aims to introduce students to the nature of the nursing profession, its academic requirements, and professional responsibilities, while enhancing motivation, building realistic expectations about nursing education and practice, fostering early professional identity, and strengthening students’ sense of belonging to the College of Nursing and Jouf University.

The initiative commenced with an introductory opening session held on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at the College Theater. The session presented the vision, objectives, and implementation phases of the Nabd Initiative, which include preparatory sessions, laboratory tours, field visits to hospitals, and reflective sessions focused on professional guidance and future career planning.

The initiative continued with a second session held on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, which focused on the academic pathway of the Bachelor of Nursing program. The session introduced students to the study plan and its stages, various general and specialized nursing roles, available employment sectors for nursing graduates, as well as opportunities for postgraduate studies and continuous professional development.

The Nabd Initiative reflects the College of Nursing’s commitment to preparing students for academic success and professional excellence, enhancing the quality of educational outcomes, and contributing to the preparation of qualified nursing graduates capable of meeting the needs of the healthcare sector and the wider community.
