College of Nursing Organizes an Applied Workshop on Mechanical Ventilation Simulation:

The Laboratories and Simulation Unit at the College of Nursing, Jouf University, in collaboration with the Advanced Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Center and Tamayoz Al-Mumayaz Company, organized an applied training workshop entitled “From Simulation to Clinical Competency” on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at the Advanced Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Center. The workshop was attended by faculty members from the College of Nursing and other health colleges at Jouf University.

The workshop aimed to develop participants’ practical skills in using the Mechanical Ventilation Simulator and to enhance the use of simulation technologies in health education and training, thereby contributing to improved training practices related to clinical skills.

The workshop covered a range of practical topics, including familiarization with the simulator’s components and its safe operation, ventilation modes and adjustment of basic parameters, waveform interpretation and alarm analysis, as well as the implementation of training scenarios and competency assessment.

The workshop forms part of the College of Nursing at Jouf University’s ongoing efforts to enhance the simulation-based education and training environment and strengthen faculty members’ ability to effectively utilize modern training technologies, thereby supporting the quality of the educational process and clinical training.

Such applied training programs play an important role in enhancing faculty members’ readiness to use simulation technologies effectively and in bridging theoretical knowledge with practical application, ultimately contributing to the quality of student training and the development of their clinical skills.

The workshop was attended by a number of faculty members. Clinical simulation is an educational tool that enables practitioners and learners to engage with a variety of clinical scenarios in a safe training environment. It also helps develop decision-making skills and appropriate responses to clinical situations, while providing opportunities for repeated practice and performance assessment before transitioning to actual clinical practice settings.
