The Syllable in Saudi Pidgin Arabic: A Data-based Analysis
2025 - 2025

Many phonological phenomena rely on syllable structure as a base for their explanation and interaction as has been shown by the extensive research that has been conducted on natural languages so far. Within European-lexified pidgins and creoles, which constitute the majority of contact languages, a fair amount of research has been conducted in areas of phonetics and phonology which in turn contributed to the understanding of their structure in comparison to non-creole languages.
