Jouf University President, Prof. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Shaya, inspected the University’s Central Library, where he reviewed the latest ongoing developments and the range of knowledge, research, and educational resources and services provided to students, researchers, and faculty members. The visit reflects the University’s commitment to advancing its learning and knowledge environment and enhancing the quality of the beneficiary experience.

The tour included an inspection of the library’s facilities, reading and study areas, printed and digital information resources, and electronic services available to beneficiaries. The President also reviewed the library’s continuous development and improvement efforts aimed at enhancing service efficiency, facilitating access to scientific and knowledge resources, and creating an attractive and stimulating environment for learning, research, and reading.

Prof. Al-Shaya emphasized that the Central Library represents a key component of the University’s academic and knowledge ecosystem, given its vital role in supporting education and scientific research and enabling students and researchers to access diverse sources of knowledge. He stressed the importance of continually developing its services in line with digital transformation and the evolving needs of beneficiaries.

He noted that the development of university libraries is no longer limited to providing books and references, but extends to creating an integrated knowledge environment that brings together digital resources, research services, and spaces for learning and collaborative work. Such an environment contributes to developing research, reading, and self-learning skills while strengthening students’ engagement with knowledge and scholarly production.

During the visit, the University President met with a number of library staff members and reviewed the nature of their work and the services they provide. He commended their efforts in serving the University community and emphasized the importance of continuously improving work mechanisms, enhancing service quality, and utilizing modern technologies to enrich the beneficiary experience and accelerate access to information and knowledge resources.

Prof. Al-Shaya directed that the continuous modernization and development of library services be sustained, while further strengthening the library’s role as a space for knowledge, research, innovation, and learning. He also called for expanding high-quality services that enhance the experience of students and researchers and contribute to achieving the University’s objectives in educational quality, scientific research, and digital transformation.

At the conclusion of the visit, the University President praised the efforts of those responsible for the Central Library, affirming that investment in the knowledge environment, its resources, and its services is a direct investment in students, researchers, and the quality of academic outcomes. He added that Jouf University will continue to develop its library and services to ensure they remain closely aligned with the needs of the University community and increasingly capable of supporting learning, research, and knowledge creation.
