The following is the full statement by the Dean of the College of Nursing, Prof. Abdulkarim bin Fadghash Al-Sharari, on this occasion:

It gives me great pleasure, on behalf of myself and all faculty, staff, and students of the College of Nursing, to extend my sincerest and warmest congratulations on this significant occasion, which marks a new global achievement for Jouf University in the 2026 Global Ranking of Academic Subjects by ShanghaiRanking. This historic achievement reflects the maturity of the University’s academic journey, strengthens its competitive standing among universities, and demonstrates that ambition, when supported by dedicated work, can lead to advanced positions on the global academic landscape.

The significance of this achievement extends beyond a numerical position in an international ranking. It reflects the quality of scientific research, the impact of knowledge production, the capabilities of academic staff, and society’s confidence in the University’s graduates. It provides objective evidence that investment in higher education yields meaningful global recognition and that Jouf University is steadily progressing toward higher levels of academic excellence, in support of the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 and the region’s contribution to building a knowledge-based economy and strengthening the national healthcare system.

At the forefront of this global recognition is the outstanding performance of Nursing, which ranked in the 151–200 range worldwide, placing it among the world’s top 200 in the subject. This achievement is no coincidence; it is the result of an integrated academic and professional journey at the College that brings together quality education, academic accreditation, program development, clinical training, and scientific research aligned with community needs. Nursing is a fundamental pillar of the healthcare system, and preparing scientifically and professionally qualified nurses who are capable of providing safe, evidence-based care represents a direct investment in human health, patient dignity, and public trust. Jouf University’s Nursing program achieving this global ranking confirms that the College is moving in the right direction toward leadership in education, training, research, and community service.

Nor would the celebration of this achievement be complete without acknowledging the other distinguished disciplines that have broadened the University’s global presence in the same ranking. Energy Science and Engineering, Mathematics, and Food Science and Technology were ranked in the 301–400 range worldwide. This diversity of excellence—across health, scientific, engineering, and food-related disciplines—demonstrates that the University’s progress is not confined to a single field. Rather, it is building an integrated academic ecosystem that supports sustainable development, energy security, rigorous scientific research, and food safety, thereby enhancing the region’s competitiveness and creating broader opportunities for our students and researchers.

On this occasion, I extend my highest expressions of gratitude and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister—may Allah protect them—for the support, empowerment, and ambitious vision extended to the higher education sector. This support has enabled Saudi universities to compete globally and has linked academic excellence with human development and service to the nation.

I also extend my sincere gratitude and appreciation to His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Nawaf bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Al-Jouf Region—may Allah protect him—for his continued support, generous attention to the University and its development, and close follow-up of its progress, all of which have contributed to strengthening its academic presence and its service to Al-Jouf Region and its people. His Highness’s support for education and development in the region has provided a vital foundation for this excellence and an incentive for further achievement.

I further extend my sincere thanks to the President of Jouf University, Prof. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Shaya, and the University Vice Presidents for their wise leadership, continued support for the colleges and research programs, and commitment to enhancing academic performance and advancing ranking and quality indicators. What has been achieved today is the result of their guidance, integrated efforts under a clear strategic framework, and a deep conviction that excellence is built through consistent daily work rather than a single moment of achievement.

I congratulate all members of the Jouf University community, including faculty members, researchers, and staff, as well as our male and female students, who are both the purpose and the outcome of the University’s educational mission. I also congratulate the people of Al-Jouf Region. This global recognition is a source of pride for the University, an achievement for the region, and a testament to Al-Jouf’s wealth of academic talent and developmental ambition.

At the College of Nursing, we receive this achievement with both gratitude and responsibility: gratitude to everyone who contributed to it, and responsibility to preserve this achievement and build upon it. With Allah’s guidance, we will continue to enhance the quality of our nursing programs, support applied scientific research, expand healthcare and community partnerships, and prepare nursing professionals who reflect this global standard and serve patients, society, and the nation with excellence and dedication.

I pray to Allah Almighty to preserve the security and stability of our country, bless our wise leadership, grant Jouf University continued progress and leadership, and make this achievement the beginning of even greater accomplishments in the service of humanity, knowledge, and development.
