In a distinguished national scene reflecting the integration of roles between educational institutions and society—and embodying the qualitative transformation in the performance of Saudi universities toward maximizing their developmental impact—Jouf University organized an official ceremony on the occasion of the Saudi Social Responsibility Day 2026, under the patronage and in the presence of His Excellency the President of the University, Prof. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Shaya’, with the participation of the University Vice Presidents, Deans of Colleges, leaders of supporting deanships, and university staff. The event represented an institutional celebration that combined recognition and appreciation, reaffirming social responsibility as a firmly rooted strategic approach within the university’s ecosystem.

The ceremony commenced with the national anthem, followed by the recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an. A documentary presentation then showcased the University’s comprehensive Social Responsibility Report, highlighting qualitative performance indicators that reflect the scale and breadth of impact achieved across multiple strategic tracks. These indicators demonstrate the University’s transition from isolated initiatives to a fully developed, sustainable institutional model grounded in governance, impact measurement, and value creation for society.

In the health sector and medical services, the University has played a vital role as a key healthcare contributor, providing integrated services to more than 67,000 beneficiaries through an advanced medical system that includes specialized clinics, family medicine, emergency services, radiology, laboratories, and pharmacy services. In addition, over 15,000 beneficiaries received dental care services, supported by targeted awareness campaigns on chronic diseases and preventive health, contributing to enhanced health awareness and early prevention within the community.

In the field of community service and social development, Jouf University demonstrated its developmental commitment through a range of impactful initiatives aimed at improving quality of life and empowering diverse groups, particularly people with disabilities, through pioneering programs such as Mumakken, Mowaem, and Qader. These efforts also included support for martyrs’ families and the implementation of skills development programs under the “Our Summer is Development” initiative, which benefited more than 13,500 participants, in addition to environmental sustainability initiatives and campus humanization projects, reflecting the integration of social and humanitarian dimensions in the University’s mission.

The University also achieved a qualitative leap in institutional volunteerism, implementing 3,327 volunteer opportunities and initiatives with the participation of over 2,000 volunteers, totaling more than 300,000 volunteer hours in 2025 across health, environmental, educational, and social fields. These efforts were crowned by winning the National Volunteer Work Award 2025, reflecting the maturity of its institutional volunteering ecosystem and its transformation into a strategic pillar of social responsibility.

In terms of environmental sustainability, the University reinforced its commitment through major initiatives, including the establishment of a 7.3 MW solar power plant, improving energy efficiency across 17 buildings, and achieving a 17% annual reduction in energy consumption. Additionally, the University planted 9,600 trees in 2025, bringing the total to approximately 25,000 trees, alongside notable progress in global sustainability rankings such as UI GreenMetric and QS Sustainability.

Within the intellectual awareness programs, the University implemented 195 awareness initiatives with the participation of 151 speakers, in collaboration with 19 entities, benefiting more than 22,900 individuals. These programs addressed national identity, counter-extremism, and community awareness, contributing to the development of a balanced, aware society capable of addressing intellectual challenges.

Furthermore, the University strengthened its institutional presence through strategic community partnerships, signing 36 agreements, including 9 agreements with direct societal impact, supporting awareness, training, volunteerism, and sustainability programs, and enhancing integration with various sectors.

In his speech during the ceremony, His Excellency the President emphasized that social responsibility has become a central pillar in higher education and a firmly established institutional approach reflecting universities’ awareness of their developmental role. He noted that Jouf University draws inspiration from the support of the Kingdom’s wise leadership—may Allah preserve it—and the continued attention of His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Nawaf bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Al-Jouf Region. The University contributes to achieving the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030, particularly in the areas of Human Capability Development and Quality of Life.

He further affirmed that the University has translated this vision into impactful initiatives and programs focused on human development and quality of life, stressing that sustaining social impact requires integrated efforts, fostering a culture of giving, and empowering students and staff to become active contributors and ambassadors of national and humanitarian values.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, several entities were honored for their outstanding contributions to social responsibility. These included: the Community Service and Volunteering Department, Prince Nawaf bin Abdulaziz Chair for Sustainable Development, Intellectual Awareness Department, University Hospital and Clinics Administration, Innovation and Entrepreneurship Department, Alumni Affairs Department, College of Dentistry, College of Medicine, College of Science, College of Applied Medical Sciences, College of Applied Medical Sciences in Al-Qurayyat, College of Education, Deanship of Student Affairs, Deanship of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, Deanship of E-Learning and Digital Transformation, Deanship of Development and Quality, and the Deanship of Admissions and Registration.

This celebration reflects Jouf University’s advanced institutional maturity in adopting social responsibility, establishing a national model based on governance, impact measurement, and sustainability—enhancing community trust and reinforcing its position as a leading university in impact creation and a key contributor to national development goals toward a more prosperous and sustainable future.
