The College of Applied Medical Sciences in Qurayyat organizes an event for "International Day of Persons with Disabilities".
Under the supervision of Her Excellency the Dean of the College, and coinciding with the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, the College of Applied Medical Sciences in Qurayyat, represented by the Department of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation, held an awareness event entitled "International Day of Persons with Disabilities" at the Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Center in Qurayyat General Hospital on Thursday, December 4, 2025. This initiative stemmed from a commitment to community service and aimed to contribute to raising public awareness of the importance of physical therapy in addressing certain types of physical disabilities in children and adults, as well as to highlighting the rights and responsibilities of persons with disabilities.
The participation of the department's students, in collaboration with Qurayyat General Hospital, contributed to providing direct awareness and educational services to persons with disabilities and their families, reflecting the humanitarian and professional role of physical therapy in improving quality of life and promoting functional independence.
The event also embodied the concept of social responsibility by utilizing the scientific knowledge and practical skills acquired by the students during their academic studies to serve various segments of society, particularly persons with disabilities, thereby contributing to raising health awareness, promoting prevention, and supporting the social inclusion of this group.
