Bachelor of Early Childhood Education
The Bachelor of Early Childhood Education program at the College of Education, Jouf University, aims to prepare highly qualified national professionals—academically, professionally, and in research—who are capable of contributing to the development of children’s education in their early years and enhancing graduates’ competitiveness in the labor market.
The program is built on modern curricula and standards in the field of early childhood education, addressing the needs of both the community and the labor market. It equips student-teachers with the knowledge and skills required to design stimulating learning environments, implement innovative teaching strategies, and support children’s holistic development. The program also places special emphasis on developing research skills, fostering community engagement, and instilling professional and ethical values rooted in Islamic principles.

This course introduces the characteristics of children’s motor and artistic development, as well as the factors influencing it. It familiarizes students with children’s artistic expressions at different stages and highlights the teacher’s role in developing children’s artistic and motor skills through designing activities and educational tools that support and enhance these abilities.
This course introduces students to the importance of various aspects of child development in learning, including physical development, social and emotional development, cognitive development, and language development, as well as children’s social relationships and their interaction with both natural and human environments. It also helps students use different methods to enhance children’s learning in each of these areas. The course places particular emphasis on the importance of learning during early childhood and introduces students to the physical environment of kindergartens, including classroom facilities and the educational resources provided for young children. |
This course introduces the teaching profession, covering the three main stages of teaching (planning – implementation – evaluation), in addition to the ethics of the teaching profession. The course aims to equip students with fundamental concepts and essential terminology related to the teaching process, including its stages, skills, professional ethics, and the qualities of an effective teacher. |
This course introduces students to the concept of developmental psychology, its importance, and its objectives. It covers the stages of psychological development and the characteristics of each stage, the influencing factors, principles of development, and research methods in developmental psychology. The course also addresses major developmental theories such as Piaget’s and Erikson’s, as well as the stage of adolescence and its characteristics, highlighting common childhood and adolescent problems and ways to overcome them. In addition, it explores the Qur’anic and Islamic perspective on developmental stages to enhance students’ awareness of the greatness of the Creator.

The course aims to familiarize the student with the concept of Islamic education in terms of its objectives, significance, characteristics, institutions, and sources, as well as the preparation of educational teachers in this field.
This course introduces students to the types and classifications of international organizations concerned with child care, such as UNICEF and UNESCO. It also covers regional organizations for child care, including their definition, origins, and objectives, with a focus on the Arab Council for Childhood and Development. In addition, the course introduces local child care organizations, such as the Charity Association for Disabled Children and the Saudi National Committee for Childhood. The course further addresses children’s rights, the Convention on the Rights of the Child, and the role of organizations in addressing various issues affecting childhood.
This course aims to provide the student with the knowledge, skills and experiences necessary to employ and integrate communication and educational technologies in the teaching and learning processes. Identify the concept of educational technology, its fields and its importance in the educational process. As well as identify the concept of educational media and identify the different classifications of media and determine the foundations and criteria necessary for choosing the educational media. Also, identify the concept of communication, its elements, types and obstacles to the communication process and identify the foundations of educational design for multimedia and educational software. Finally, identify the concept of educational design and its models. Employ the use of technology in educational situations and design students one of the educational lessons using modern technologies.
This course provides an introduction to motor education, including related concepts, requirements, and types. It covers the stages of motor development in preschool children, objectives and importance of motor education, motor learning theories, and methods for developing movement and fitness skills in young children. The course also presents examples of activities and exercises to enhance motor skills. It aims to give students a comprehensive understanding of motor education, including its concept, types, and basic motor skills, as well as practical experience in designing diverse motor activities suitable for preschool children.

It discusses these curricula in terms of their theoretical and philosophical foundations, content, daily program organization, classroom environment, the teacher’s role, and other elements of the educational process in early childhood classrooms.
