Overview
Risk management is the systematic process of measuring and assessing potential threats to avoid or mitigate technical risks. These risks are inherent in every decision-making process and operational action at all institutional levels.
In this context, risks are not exclusively negative; they are categorized into two types: upside risks that create opportunities, and downside risks that create challenges. We manage technical risks to ensure the university makes the most informed and optimal decisions. Ultimately, the success or failure of a decision depends on proactive risk management rather than reactive measures.
Vision
To be a digitally secure university that achieves its goals with maximum efficiency, fosters a culture of risk prevention, and manages technical threats professionally before they materialize.
Mission
We are dedicated to enhancing the university’s performance by activating robust oversight, preventive measures, and early warning systems to manage technical risks, ensuring a safe and stable educational environment for all stakeholders.
Objectives
Risk Appetite: Defining the acceptable threshold of risk for various types of technical projects.
Risk Register: Developing and maintaining a comprehensive register of technical risks that could impact project outcomes.
Mitigation Planning: Establishing clear response frameworks, including prevention, containment, and mitigation strategies.
Compliance: Implementing the mandatory controls and policies of the National Cybersecurity Authority (NCA).
Operational Efficiency: Enhancing the effectiveness of administrative and academic processes by minimizing technical disruptions.
Awareness: Cultivating a high level of risk awareness among all university members.
Environment Security: Providing a stable educational environment free from critical technical hazards.
Continuous Review: Periodically updating and evaluating the effectiveness of risk response strategies to ensure institutional resilience.
