The Deanship of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research at Jouf University organized the third lecture entitled “Introduction to Patents” on Monday, April 28, 2025, delivered by Dr. Ibtisam bint Khalifa Al-Anazi and Dr. Sami Abdulhamid Saleem.
The lecture addressed the fundamental concepts of patents and highlighted their importance in protecting innovative ideas and supporting scientific innovation. It also explained the key requirements for obtaining a patent, including novelty and industrial applicability.
In addition, the lecture presented a comparative overview of different types of intellectual property, emphasizing the role of patents in safeguarding intellectual rights and enhancing the scientific and economic value of research outputs. This contributes to raising researchers’ awareness of the importance of protecting their scientific work.
