Dean's speech
The College of Education at Jouf University is considered one of the oldest and most important colleges at the university. It includes five departments and offers a range of specialized programs at the bachelor’s and master’s levels. The College’s vision is “excellence in educational work, scientific research, and community service at the local and regional levels.” It seeks to realize this vision through preparing and developing educational competencies with competitive capabilities in the labor market, providing high-quality and distinguished research outputs, and implementing effective community services and partnerships that contribute to achieving the university’s objectives.
The importance of the College of Education is highlighted by its role as the main pillar in preparing educational practitioners and supporting their continuous professional development, upon whom Saudi Vision 2030 relies to achieve its ambitious programs.
I am pleased to present to you the annual report of the College of Education for the academic year 1446 AH, during which the College achieved outstanding accomplishments. Colleagues published (34) research papers indexed in SCOPUS and WOS, and benefited from the support provided by the University through funding (7) research projects. In the field of professional, administrative, and academic development, (12) training programs were implemented, benefiting more than (90) faculty members, in addition to (6) training programs for administrative staff, benefiting (50) administrators.
As students are the focus of care and attention in preparing them for a bright future by developing their capabilities, enhancing their skills, and refining their talents for the labor market, the College offered (35) training programs for male and female students, benefiting (660) students. The College also organized (3) scientific seminars and (36) workshops.
In the field of community responsibility and volunteer work, the College provided (175) volunteer opportunities with a total of (391) volunteer hours. The total number of volunteers reached (473), including (232) volunteers from the University and (241) volunteers from the community. The College also offered (20) specialized community service programs that benefited more than (300) members of the community. Additionally, the College achieved one award and signed (2) memoranda of understanding.
The College has submitted the Bachelor’s Program in Early Childhood Education to the Education and Training Evaluation Commission for accreditation, and the Master’s Program in Psychological Counseling to the German accreditation body. Work is currently underway to accredit the remaining College programs, God willing.
All these achievements are the result of unlimited support from the Government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, as well as the follow-up and attention of the President of the University, Prof. Dr. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Shaya, the University Vice Presidents, and the continuous efforts of the College’s faculty and staff.
