The Dean of the College of Applied Medical Sciences had the honor of presenting the College’s annual report to the President of Jouf University
The Dean of the College of Applied Medical Sciences, Dr. Abdullah bin Falleh Alsarhani, had the honor of presenting the College’s annual report for the academic year 1447 AH (2025–2026) to the President of Jouf University, Professor Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Shaya. The report provided an overview of the College’s performance and highlighted its most notable achievements.
The report reviewed the College’s accomplishments under its second strategic plan, “Development and Leadership,” across the areas of teaching and learning quality, scientific research and innovation, partnerships and community responsibility, excellence, and academic accreditation. These efforts support the College’s role in preparing qualified healthcare professionals and producing applied research that responds to the priorities of the healthcare sector.
The report indicated that the College enrolled 732 male and female students and graduated 91 students during the academic year. It also published 235 scientific papers indexed in Scopus and Web of Science, including 94 papers in first-quartile (Q1) journals, with a total of 9,850 citations. In addition, the College’s Master’s programs in Clinical Laboratory Sciences, across their various tracks, obtained international accreditation from AHPGS and recognition from the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties. The report also highlighted the introduction of the Doctor of Physical Therapy and Health Rehabilitation bachelor’s program, as well as a PhD program in Clinical Laboratory Sciences with four specialized tracks.
Furthermore, student satisfaction with the educational experience reached 94%, while faculty satisfaction with the educational environment reached 94.3%. The undergraduate student retention rate stood at 89%, reflecting the College’s continued efforts to enhance its academic environment, educational practices, and student-support services.
Research and Innovation Achievements with Meaningful Community Impact
The President of Jouf University reviewed the College’s achievements in scientific research and innovation, including the filing of 22 patents and industrial designs with intellectual property offices in Australia and the United Kingdom. The College also won first place in the 2025 President’s Award for Entrepreneurship in three categories: high-impact initiatives for the “Qader… Together to Challenge Disability” initiative, innovation and patents, and website and media content. In addition, a student research team from the College achieved first place in the Health Sciences track at the “Waed” Student Innovation Exhibition.
The report also highlighted the College’s initiatives to enhance graduate employability and professional readiness, including the “Graduate Enrichment” initiative and the “Imtiaz” platform, which automates training and internship-year procedures. Employment rates reached 47% among Clinical Laboratory Sciences graduates and 46% among Physical Therapy graduates, with an average starting salary of SAR 7,000.
In the area of community responsibility and volunteer work, the College provided 398 volunteer opportunities involving 520 male and female volunteers, who contributed a total of 46,648 volunteer hours. The College also implemented more than 38 community events and initiatives that benefited over 5,000 individuals. These included the “We Qualify and Empower” initiative, World Physical Therapy Day activities, breast cancer awareness campaigns, and organ and blood donation campaigns, among other programs designed to promote health awareness and improve quality of life.
