College of Applied Medical Sciences Launches Awareness Event on Autism Spectrum Disorders as Part of 'Together We Can Challenge Disability' Initiative

Under the guidance of the Dean of the College of Applied Medical Sciences, Dr. Abdullah bin Faleh Al-Sarhani, and in line with the university’s commitment to raising community awareness and supporting children with disabilities, the college—represented by the Department of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation and the “Taaheel” Club—launched an awareness event on Autism Spectrum Disorders. The event was held in conjunction with Autism Awareness Month, in collaboration with Oboor Daycare Center. This initiative is part of the "Together We Can Challenge Disability" campaign.

The event featured a variety of activities aimed at increasing public awareness of Autism Spectrum Disorders, their causes, and ways to effectively interact with individuals on the spectrum. It also included mental and physical activities designed to enhance children’s focus and creativity. Body composition analyses were conducted for visitors, including measurements of fat percentage, muscle mass, salts, and retained fluids.

Additionally, the event included a drawing and coloring corner to develop children's understanding of colors and their coordination. Branded giveaways were distributed to both children and adults as part of the initiative.
