Under the Direction of Dr. Abdullah bin Faleh Al-Sarhani, Dean of the College of Applied Medical Sciences, and in Celebration of World Day for Safety and Health at Work
The College of Applied Medical Sciences at Al-Jouf University launched a series of awareness activities, including scientific lectures and educational booths, aimed at promoting a culture of occupational safety and preventing accidents and injuries in the workplace.
The events featured a lecture titled "Occupational Health and Safety... for Better Performance and a Longer Life" delivered by Dr. Maryam Amir, Associate Professor in the Department of Physical Therapy and Health Rehabilitation. The lecture covered occupational injury statistics in the Kingdom, common workplace hazards, safety tools, and the role of artificial intelligence in reducing injuries.
Dr. Sami Saleem, Associate Professor in the Department of Clinical Laboratory Sciences, also presented a lecture titled "Chemical and Biological Hazards and Methods of Prevention," which shed light on how to deal with such risks in various work environments.
Additionally, the "Rehabilitation Club" participated with an awareness booth organized by female students from the Department of Physical Therapy and Health Rehabilitation. The booth aimed to raise public awareness about proper sitting and movement techniques to avoid injuries. Safety tools were displayed, and visitors were educated on their importance.
