Jouf University' Council held its seventh session for the academic year 1446 AH, chaired by His Excellency, the University President, Prof. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Shaya, with the attendance of the Council members from the university' vice presidents and deans of colleges and supporting deanships.
The meeting began with a speech by His Excellency, the University President, in which he welcomed the Council members and emphasized the University' commitment to achieving the goals of its strategic plan and its continued commitment to strategic planning based on the effective governance and decision-making according to the scientific and well-studied criteria. These recommendations contribute to strengthening the University' academic, research, and societal standing, in line with the Kingdom's Vision 2030 to build a knowledge-based society and an economy based on innovation and scientific research
During the session, the Council discussed several topics on its agenda and made several decisions aimed at developing the academic and administrative work system and achieving quality in the university' educational and research outputs.
The most prominent of these decisions were:
- Approval of the executive rules for the university' graduate studies bylaws, which contribute to the development of the graduate programs and raising their quality in line with the university' strategic vision.
- Approval of the Memorandum of Understanding Between Jouf University and the University of Florida in the United States of America.
- Approval of the number of male and female students proposed for admission for the first semester of the academic year 1447 AH for Bachelor, Diploma, and Bridging Degrees, as well as their admission requirements.
- Approval of the academic calendar for the summer semester of the academic year 1446 AH and registration regulations.
- Discussion of several scholarship topics and appropriate decisions were made.
- Discussion of several topics related to faculty members and appropriate decisions were made in accordance with the rules and regulations.
At the conclusion of the meeting, His Excellency, the University President thanked the Council members for their efforts and emphasized the importance of continuing institutional work to achieve the aspirations of the Wise Leadership—may Allah protect them—and support the goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030, noting that the University' Council is committed, at each session, to making decisions that contribute to developing the university' environment and improving the quality of education and services provided to students and the community.
