Chaired by His Excellency the University President, Prof. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Shaya, with the attendance of the Council's members from the university’ vice rectors and deans of colleges and supporting deanships, Jouf University' Council held its fifth session for the academic year 1446 AH.
The meeting began with a speech by His Excellency, the University President, in which he welcomed the members of the Council, stressing the importance of joint work to continue developing the educational and research process at the university, and enhancing the quality of academic outputs in line with the university’ strategic plan and the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
During the session, the Council discussed a number of topics on the agenda, and made several decisions regarding them,
The most notably decisions:
- Reforming the University’ Scientific Council.
- Approval of the conclusion of a memorandum of understanding between Jouf University and Colorado State University in the United States of America, within the framework of strengthening international academic partnerships, exchanging academic and research expertise, and cooperating in joint research projects, in addition to developing educational and training programs.
- Approval of granting academic degrees to a number of postgraduate students who are expected to graduate during the second semester of the academic year 1446 AH. Those who have completed graduation requirements, the Council approved granting them academic degrees in various academic disciplines. The Council also stressed the importance of supporting graduates and qualifying them for the labor market by providing training programs and partnerships with various sectors to enhance employment opportunities.
- The Council also discussed a number of topics on the agenda and made the necessary recommendations regarding them.
At the end of the meeting, His Excellency, the President of the University thanked the members of the Council for their efforts in developing the academic process, and stressed the importance of following up on the implementation of the decisions and recommendations issued by the Council to ensure the achievement of the desired goals, which contributes to enhancing the role of the university as a scientific and research beacon that contributes to achieving sustainable development.
