Chaired by His Excellency, the University’ President, Prof. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Shaya, with attendance of the Council’s members from the university' vice presidents, deans of colleges, and supporting deanships, Jouf University Council held its eighth session for the academic year 1446 AH,. The meeting began with a speech delivered by His Excellency, the University’ President, in which he welcomed the Council’s members emphasizing the need for continuous efforts to support the development process pursued by Jouf University, striving to achieve institutional excellence and leadership in academic, research, and administrative performance. He affirmed the University's commitment to achieving the objectives of its strategic plan, based on a clear strategic vision that aligns with the goals of the |Kingdom’s Vision 2030 and leverages national energies in various fields.


During the meeting, several topics on the agenda were discussed, and several decisions and recommendations were made that reflect the University' strategic direction toward comprehensive development and improving the quality of its educational and research outputs. The most prominent topics discussed by the Council were:
- Approval of the organizational regulations for research chairs at Jouf University for the year 2025 AD, with the aim of enhancing the scientific research environment and achieving integration between research outputs and national development requirements.
- Approval of including the Artificial Intelligence’ course as a course in the university' undergraduate programs, starting with the academic year 1447 AH, in keeping with the digital transformations and supporting the Kingdom's efforts to adopt the technologies of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
- Approval of the Memorandum of Understanding between the University and the Royal Institute of Traditional Arts (WERTH) Inheritance
- Discussion of a number of scholarship topics and making appropriate decisions regarding them, in a way that supports national capacity building and the development of academic and administrative competencies.
- Discussion of a number of topics related to faculty members and making appropriate decisions regarding them, in a way that enhances the academic work environment and improves the quality of educational and research performance at the university.


At the conclusion of the session, His Excellency, the University’ President, Prof. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Shaya stated that the Council continues its role in supporting the university' development process and making decisions that contribute to building a modern academic model based on excellence and innovation. He emphasized the importance of continuing the collective efforts of all university staff to achieve its strategic goals, enhance its role in serving society and the national economy, and move forward towards achieving the aspirations of the Wise Leadership in building a competitive knowledge society.
