The College of Applied Medical Sciences at Jouf University organizes an awareness corner on the occasion of World Leukemia Awareness Month

College of Applied Medical Sciences Organizes an Awareness Booth for Blood Cancer Awareness Month
As part of its ongoing efforts to promote health awareness and strengthen its role in community service, the College of Applied Medical Sciences at Jouf University organized an awareness booth in conjunction with Blood Cancer Awareness Month, focusing on leukemia. The initiative aimed to raise health awareness about the disease, introduce its major types and common symptoms, and emphasize the importance of health awareness and early detection.
The awareness booth was organized as part of the College’s educational and community initiatives aimed at enhancing health literacy and highlighting important health conditions through clear and accessible information that helps individuals become more aware of symptoms that may require medical attention and follow-up.
The booth provided a brief introduction to leukemia, explaining that it is a disease affecting the bone marrow and lymphatic system and interfering with the normal production of blood cells. It also introduced the four major types of leukemia: Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL), Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML), Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL), and Chronic Myeloid Leukemia (CML).
The awareness materials also highlighted several common symptoms associated with leukemia, including fatigue and pallor, recurrent infections, bruising or bleeding, as well as fever and night sweats. Presenting these symptoms contributed to increasing awareness of warning signs that may require medical evaluation and follow-up.
