College of Applied Medical Sciences at Jouf University Organizes a Series of Awareness and Educational Activities in Conjunction with World Physical Therapy Day 2026
In conjunction with World Physical Therapy Day 2026, the College of Applied Medical Sciences at Jouf University, represented by the Department of Physical Therapy and Health Rehabilitation, organized a series of scientific, awareness, and educational activities from September 7 to 9, 2026. The activities aimed to raise awareness of the importance of physical therapy and its role in prevention, rehabilitation, and improving quality of life through a diverse program that included scientific lectures, awareness programs, interactive booths, health and clinical consultations, rehabilitation guidance, and educational and recreational competitions.
The activities were held under the theme “Your Movement Today Is Protection… Safeguarding Your Heart and Brain,” conveying an awareness message that emphasized the importance of movement and physical activity and the role of physical therapy and health rehabilitation in promoting health, prevention, and functional and mobility independence, while also enhancing health literacy among community members.
Awareness Lecture on the Role of Physical Therapy in Stroke Prevention
The program began on Monday, September 7, 2026, with an awareness lecture entitled “The Role of Physical Therapy in Stroke Prevention, Management, and Rehabilitation,” presented by Dr. Moataz Mohammed Al-Samri at the College of Applied Medical Sciences Theater.
The lecture highlighted the importance of physical therapy in addressing stroke across the stages of prevention, management, and rehabilitation, thereby enhancing understanding of the role rehabilitation interventions can play in supporting patients, improving their functional abilities, and helping them regain the greatest possible level of independence.
The lecture also emphasized the importance of preventive and rehabilitative practices, linking scientific knowledge with health applications that benefit individuals and the community, and promoting physical activity as an important component of maintaining health.
Diverse Program at the College of Applied Medical Sciences
The activities continued on the same day, September 7, 2026, at 12:00 p.m., at the College of Applied Medical Sciences Theater and Lobby, where the program featured a range of scientific, educational, and interactive activities.
The program included an educational scientific lecture, health consultations, and interactive booths, providing diverse messages about physical therapy and its importance while enhancing direct engagement with beneficiaries and helping translate scientific knowledge into accessible and practical health information.
Community and Interactive Event at the House of Culture
The World Physical Therapy Day activities extended beyond the College campus. On Tuesday, September 8, 2026, the College of Applied Medical Sciences at Jouf University, represented by the Department of Physical Therapy and Health Rehabilitation, organized a community and interactive event at the House of Culture in Sakaka.
The event witnessed notable attendance and engagement from representatives of the Al-Jouf Club for Persons with Disabilities, along with a group of interested participants and beneficiaries, reflecting the importance of expanding awareness programs to reach diverse segments of the community.
The event featured a comprehensive range of awareness and interactive booths and programs, where specialists provided health and clinical consultations as well as individualized rehabilitation guidance for visitors, giving beneficiaries an opportunity to learn directly about various aspects of mobility health, physical therapy, and rehabilitation.
The event also included interactive and recreational activities and competitions for children, combining education with entertainment and presenting health concepts in an accessible and engaging manner that encouraged the participation of children and their families.
The participation of representatives from the Al-Jouf Club for Persons with Disabilities reflected the College’s commitment to positive inclusion and community engagement and to making its awareness programs accessible to different groups. It also highlighted the importance of physical therapy and health rehabilitation in supporting quality of life, mobility independence, and functional ability.
Awareness Program in Cooperation with the Deanship of Student Affairs
The series of activities concluded on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, with an awareness and educational program organized by the College in cooperation with the Deanship of Student Affairs at Jouf University. The program was held at a shopping center in Sakaka at 5:00 p.m.
The program featured awareness and interactive activities, recreational competitions for children, and health consultations, helping communicate health messages to community members in an interactive environment that combined knowledge, education, and participation.
On the same day, as part of the overall program, the activities also included awareness programs and health consultations at 7:00 p.m. in cooperation with the College of Law at Jouf University, in accordance with the announced program.
Promoting Community Awareness of the Importance of Physical Therapy
The diverse activities held over three days reflected the commitment of the College of Applied Medical Sciences at Jouf University, represented by the Department of Physical Therapy and Health Rehabilitation, to utilizing international health occasions to disseminate knowledge, promote health literacy, and extend its awareness message from the academic environment to diverse community settings.
The variety of activities—including scientific lectures, interactive booths, health and clinical consultations, rehabilitation guidance, and educational and recreational programs and competitions—helped reach different segments of the community and strengthen direct engagement with beneficiaries, supporting the concepts of prevention, healthy movement, and rehabilitation.
The partnerships and community participation accompanying the activities, including cooperation with the Deanship of Student Affairs and the College of Law at Jouf University, as well as the participation of representatives of the Al-Jouf Club for Persons with Disabilities, demonstrated the importance of collaboration and integration in implementing community initiatives and expanding their impact, thereby strengthening the University’s role in community service and health education.

These activities represented an extension of the College of Applied Medical Sciences’ role in social responsibility, health education, and the positive inclusion of diverse community groups, linking academic and specialized knowledge with beneficiaries’ needs and highlighting the role of physical therapy and health rehabilitation in prevention, rehabilitation, mobility independence, functional ability, and improving quality of life.
The series concluded by emphasizing the importance of continuing health and community initiatives that promote a culture of movement and prevention and reinforce awareness of the role of physical therapy and health rehabilitation in supporting individual and community health, reflecting this year’s theme: “Your Movement Today Is Protection… Safeguarding Your Heart and Brain.
