Under the direct supervision of Dr. Abdullah bin Faleh Alsrhani, Dean of the College, and as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the College of Applied Medical Sciences organized an awareness event in collaboration with the College’s Laboratory Pioneers Club. This initiative reflects the College’s commitment to promoting global health days and fostering a culture of health awareness among university members and the wider community. The event aimed to emphasize the importance of early detection and its vital role in prevention and improving recovery rates.
Held under the slogan “With a Smile of Hope, We Draw the Path to Recovery,” the event featured an awareness booth where participants presented scientific facts and medical statistics about breast cancer. They highlighted the crucial role of early detection in increasing recovery rates and reducing complications resulting from late diagnosis.
Breast Cancer Awareness
The event included explanations of the symptoms and warning signs of the disease, as well as demonstrations of different medical screening methods used for early detection, such as self-examination, clinical examination, and mammography. In addition, it featured educational and interactive competitions designed to enhance visitors’ health knowledge and encourage the adoption of preventive behaviors.
The awareness booth also displayed informative brochures and visual models illustrating how to perform breast self-examinations, along with interactive explanations about risk factors, prevention methods, and the latest diagnostic and treatment techniques.
