Scientific Committee

Duties of the Scientific Committee:

  • Reviewing the accuracy of the proposed scientific content for any activity or program, and ensuring its currency and relevance to the goals of continuous professional development and beneficiaries’ needs.
  • Verifying that the submitted content is supported by scientific evidence and recognized within the relevant specialty.
  • Ensuring that the educational objectives of the activity or program are clear, measurable, and aligned with the university’s academic and professional mission and the accreditation standards of the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties.
  • Evaluating the expected learning outcomes and verifying the ability of the proposed program to achieve them effectively.
  • Reviewing the proposed program schedule and session distribution, and ensuring a balance between theoretical and practical components.
  • Recommending approval of the final scientific program for the activity or program, or requesting modifications to enhance its efficiency and quality.
  • Reviewing the curricula vitae, academic qualifications, and experience of proposed trainers or speakers to ensure they possess the competence and expertise necessary to deliver the scientific content effectively.
  • Verifying that the activity or program aligns with the actual professional development needs of healthcare practitioners.
  • Promoting a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship, and contributing to the design of entrepreneurship programs/courses at the university.
  • Ensuring that the scientific content complies with the approved standards and regulations for professional development issued by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties.
  • Submitting periodic, detailed reports on the results of reviewing the proposed scientific content to the Director of the Continuous Professional Development Administration, including clear recommendations for approval, modification, or rejection with justification
