Jouf University President Praises Achievements of the College of Pharmacy in Program Accreditation, Scientific Research, and Community Service
His Excellency Prof. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Shaya, President of Jouf University, received the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, along with the vice deans and department heads, to review the college’s annual report for the academic year 1446 AH. The report highlighted a set of distinguished achievements in the academic, research, and community spheres, reflected in international accreditations, research excellence, global awards, and community service programs.
The University President commended the college’s outstanding global standing in academic rankings, noting that the Bachelor of Pharmacy program obtained full accreditation from the Education & Training Evaluation Commission until 2028, and was ranked among the 151–200 category globally by QS and 401–500 by Shanghai Ranking. He emphasized that these accomplishments demonstrate the university’s ongoing commitment to enhancing educational quality, strengthening research and innovation, and serving society in alignment with its strategic objectives and the goals of Saudi Vision 2030, particularly in supporting human capability development and the knowledge economy.
In the field of scientific research, faculty members published 209 scientific papers, registered five patents, and nine faculty members were listed among Stanford University’s top 2% of most influential researchers worldwide. The college also launched the Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) program, and prepared plans for master’s programs in pharmaceutical sciences and toxicology, while continuing to expand its network of local and international partnerships with institutions such as SPIMACO and the University of Iowa.
The College of Pharmacy also achieved notable success in academic and research awards, with faculty and students receiving around 12 awards at the university, national, and international levels—five for academic excellence and seven for research presented at conferences and scientific workshops. These achievements underscore the college’s dedication to fostering innovation and scientific research among students and faculty.

The report further highlighted the college’s initiatives in volunteering and community engagement, which included student-led initiatives organizing more than five public health awareness campaigns on disease prevention and pharmaceutical education in cooperation with local hospitals and health centers. In addition, the college provided 10 research opportunities for students to work alongside faculty, engaged them as assistants and volunteers in conferences and scientific workshops, organized over eight training programs and field visits to hospitals and pharmacies, and facilitated their participation in community health events with local and international partners. Collectively, these activities amounted to 3,000 volunteer hours and participation in 55 workshops.
The college also announced the expansion of its academic and international partnerships to advance education and research, and to broaden cooperation with leading local and global institutions in the field of pharmacy. Notable agreements included collaboration with the University of Iowa (USA), as well as partnerships with local and international companies such as SPIMACO and Al-Alamiya Solutions, aimed at advancing research and practical training for both students and faculty. Moreover, faculty members took part in international conferences and training programs to strengthen research collaboration and exchange expertise, including DUPAT and DUPHAT in the UAE, Anurag University in India, and the University of Sharjah in the UAE.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the University President praised the college’s accomplishments, affirming that they reflect the collective efforts of its members and represent a significant step toward realizing the university’s vision of becoming a national model that meets global standards in education, research, innovation, and community service. For his part, the Dean of the College expressed his gratitude to the University President for his continuous support, reaffirming the college’s commitment to continuing its journey of excellence and achieving the university’s strategic goals in line with Saudi Vision 2030.
