Jouf University President Receives Dean of the College of Applied Medical Sciences and Reviews Annual Report

As part of his ongoing efforts to support colleges and enhance the educational, research, and community service mission of the university, His Excellency Prof. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Shaya, President of Jouf University, received the Dean of the College of Applied Medical Sciences, along with the vice deans and department heads, where the college’s annual report for the academic year 1446 AH was presented.

The report highlighted a range of remarkable achievements. In research, the college published 120 indexed papers in SCOPUS and WOS, launched 32 funded research projects, and surpassed 5,000 citations, reflecting the quality and impact of its scientific contributions. The college also secured 16 research awards, registered 7 patents, and published papers ranked among the top 10% most cited worldwide.

On the quality and accreditation front, the B.Sc. in Clinical Laboratory Sciences and the B.Sc. in Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation programs obtained full accreditation, while the M.Sc. in Clinical Laboratory Sciences completed AHP accreditation requirements with 100% compliance. In addition, academic policies and curricula were updated to align with national standards and international best practices.

The college made significant progress in enhancing learning environments, upgrading laboratories and simulation facilities, and delivering 35 faculty development programs and 12 training courses for students, alongside 19 workshops and 7 scientific seminars. New partnerships with healthcare providers expanded clinical training opportunities, providing students with enriched practical experiences.

In community service, the college organized 42 outreach activities and provided 350 volunteer opportunities with the participation of 8,750 volunteers, in addition to awareness campaigns and preventive health screenings. The college enrolled 635 students during the year, graduated 106 students, and employed 56 faculty members, achieving a faculty retention rate exceeding 95%.

Graduate employability rates ranged between 35–45% for bachelor’s programs, with the master’s program targeting 80%. The college is working to increase job alignment with graduates’ fields of study in its future development plans.

His Excellency the President commended the college’s accomplishments, stressing that these achievements reflect a clear vision and an ambitious strategic plan. He added:
“The accomplishments presented by the College of Applied Medical Sciences in research, academics, and community service embody a strong commitment to the university’s strategic objectives, and they support Jouf University’s progress toward excellence and leadership in line with Saudi Vision 2030. The university administration fully supports these efforts and looks forward to the college continuing its distinction, contributing to building national capabilities, and graduating qualified professionals who can serve the nation and society.”

The College of Applied Medical Sciences, through its second strategic plan (2023–2027), will continue to emphasize research excellence, investment in national talent, and specialized academic expansion, alongside its ongoing community initiatives such as “Together We Can Challenge Disability,”“We Prepare and Empower,” and the Training & Internship Platform, reaffirming its mission in education, research, and service to society.
