Partnerships and Initiatives at the College of Applied Medical Sciences

 

A unified framework agreement between the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties and Jouf University to implement training programs in health specialties. The agreement aims to improve professional performance and skills in the health sector, and achieve the goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 by providing qualified Saudi cadres. The terms of the agreement specify the obligations of both parties, the work mechanism, fees, property rights, confidentiality terms, the duration of the agreement, and the dispute resolution mechanism.

The Memorandum of Understanding between the College of Applied Medical Sciences at Jouf University and the Saudi Society for Clinical Laboratory Sciences aims to promote joint cooperation to serve the community in various fields, such as awareness programs, exchange of information and expertise, and organizing training courses and scientific conferences.

A cooperation agreement aims to coordinate between the College of Applied Medical Sciences and King Abdulaziz Specialist Hospital in Al-Jouf in implementing programs of the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties, in accordance with the regulations and executive rules governing the training process at the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties. This agreement aims to prepare qualified Saudi personnel to the highest academic and qualification standards, thereby enhancing the quality of health services in the Al-Jouf region.

The memorandum aims to enhance cooperation in community service, develop the physical therapy profession, and raise health awareness. The agreement was signed by the Dean of the College, Dr. Abdullah  Falleh Alsrhani, and the Chairman of the Saudi Physical Therapy Association. The memorandum includes exchanging expertise, organizing courses and workshops, and developing the skills of students and graduates.

The memorandum aims to enhance cooperation in the field of health investment and to develop a stimulating environment in the region in line with Saudi Vision 2030. The memorandum was signed by the Dean of the College, Dr. Abdullah  Falleh Alsrhani, and the CEO of the Health Care Company. It includes organizing events, training programs, and workshops in innovation and health entrepreneurship, as well as exchanging expertise and specialized educational content.

An initiative aimed at qualifying students of the Faculty of Applied Medical Science

Under the generous patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Nawaf bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Al-Jouf Region, Al-Jouf University, represented by the College of Applied Medical Sciences, launched the initiative “Qadir… Together to Challenge Disability.”

The initiative aims to develop the abilities of persons with disabilities in a way that enhances their independence, increases their productivity, and promotes their effective participation in the community. It also seeks to empower them with their rights and clarify the community’s responsibilities toward them through a series of activities, programs, and services directed to persons with disabilities, their families, and those responsible for their education and rehabilitation in health and educational institutions.

Objectives of the Initiative

  • Develop the capabilities of persons with disabilities to enhance their independence, productivity, and active participation in society, in line with the goals of Vision 2030.

  • Empower persons with disabilities to know their rights and clarify society’s obligations toward them through a set of awareness activities, programs, and services.

  • Educate, train, and raise awareness among persons with disabilities, their families, and caregivers to create an inclusive society that supports integration and productivity.

  • Promote health and community awareness, disability prevention, health and skill rehabilitation, and ultimately achieve sustainable empowerment for persons with disabilities.

Target Groups

  • Persons with disabilities of all categories.

  • Families of persons with disabilities.

  • Professionals responsible for teaching, rehabilitating, and caring for persons with disabilities in health and educational institutions.

  • Academic students enrolled in programs preparing them to work in the field of disability education and rehabilitation.

Areas of the Initiative

  • Disability prevention: through early detection campaigns, field assessments and evaluations for school students, and awareness of risk factors such as strokes, diabetes, and hypertension.

  • Health and community education: through public and specialized awareness events, lectures, and symposiums, as well as informative booths in community and official events.

  • Health and skill rehabilitation: through physical and rehabilitative programs for persons with disabilities and professional consultation on injuries and movement rehabilitation.

  • Empowerment and social inclusion: through community-based and collaborative activities with governmental and private sectors and participation in international awareness days to enhance inclusion and productivity.

Practical Examples of Activities

  • The Rehabilitation Caravan: early screening campaigns for postural deformities, gait deviations, and foot pressure issues in schools and community settings.

  • "With Sports, We Challenge Disability" Program: for rehabilitating individuals and promoting physical activity among persons with disabilities in collaboration with specialized sports clubs.

  • Awareness Booths: introducing stroke prevention and offering on-site blood sugar and blood pressure assessments with immediate consultations.

  • Global Day Events: such as the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, Down Syndrome Day, and Braille Day, in addition to seminars on innovative rehabilitation technologies to enhance public and professional awareness.
