Overview

The Information Systems (IS) Program at Jouf University, established in 2011 (1432H), has been a cornerstone of technological innovation and community development in the region. Offering a Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, the program is committed to preparing graduates with the knowledge and skills required to thrive in a rapidly changing global landscape and contribute to sustainable development. Recognizing the ever-evolving nature of the field, the curriculum underwent its most recent revision in 2023 (1444H), incorporating the latest advancements in information systems and leveraging over a decade of experience to provide a forward-looking, industry-relevant education. Delivered as a full-time, on-campus program, it also offers a two-month summer session, allowing students to fast-track their academic progress and gain a competitive advantage.

The program was established to address key regional challenges, such as the shortage of specialists in computer information systems, the need for enhanced digital services, and the demand for a skilled Saudi workforce aligned with Vision 2030. By fostering Saudization and reducing dependency on foreign expertise, the IS program plays a vital role in the Kingdom’s development goals. Beyond academics, the department actively engages with the community, providing training, consultancy, and technical services, while supporting national technological initiatives and driving economic growth within the knowledge-based economy. With its continuously updated curriculum and strong commitment to community engagement, the IS Program at Jouf University empowers graduates to lead and innovate in the digital era, strengthening Saudi Arabia’s position in the global technological landscape.
