Electrical Engineering is one of the most dynamic and impactful engineering disciplines, playing a vital role in advancing technology and meeting the evolving needs of modern societies. It serves as a bridge between fundamental scientific principles and advanced technological applications, encompassing diverse fields such as power systems, electronics, control systems, telecommunications, and renewable energy — making it a cornerstone in driving industrial and societal progress. The Department of Electrical Engineering at the College of Engineering, Jouf University, was established to be a leading academic unit contributing to the preparation of highly qualified engineers who are capable of supporting the scientific and technological development witnessed by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in alignment with Vision 2030. The department aims to graduate skilled engineers who possess a strong scientific foundation in electrical and electronic engineering, as well as the practical skills necessary to keep pace with the rapid advancements in energy, communication, and automation technologies.
The undergraduate program leading to a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering has been carefully designed to cover core areas in mathematics, physics, electrical engineering principles, power systems, electronics, and telecommunications, with an emphasis on practical training through specialized laboratories covering the major fields of electrical engineering. The academic program ensures alignment with the latest technological trends and scientific developments, aiming to graduate engineers who are competitive in the labor market and capable of contributing effectively to economic and social development. To obtain the Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, students must successfully complete 162 credit hours distributed among university requirements, college requirements, and department core courses.
