Jouf University President Reviews the College of Pharmacy’s Annual Report, Key Achievements, and Future Aspirations
His Excellency the President of Jouf University, Prof. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Shaya, received the Dean and Vice Deans of the College of Pharmacy. During the meeting, the College’s 1447 AH annual report was presented, highlighting key performance indicators and significant achievements in education, scientific research, innovation, and community service, as well as the College’s future objectives and development projects.
His Excellency reviewed the College’s progress in developing its academic programs and enhancing the quality of its outcomes. The College currently offers three academic programs: Doctor of Pharmacy, Bachelor of Pharmacy, and Master of Science in Toxicology. The bachelor’s program has received academic accreditation through 2028. The College has 404 enrolled students and, since its establishment, has graduated 678 pharmacists who now work across the healthcare, academic, and research sectors.
The report highlighted the College’s growing scientific and research presence, with 260 research papers indexed in Scopus and Web of Science and more than 14,500 citations. It also documented 27 funded research projects, four registered patents, and external research funding exceeding SAR 4 million.
The report further showcased the College’s strong performance in international rankings, with pharmacy featured in the QS, Shanghai, Times Higher Education, and U.S. News rankings. In addition, ten faculty members were included in Stanford University’s list of the world’s top 2% most-cited scientists, reflecting the quality and impact of the College’s research at both national and international levels.
In student excellence, College students earned 11 awards and top placements at scientific conferences, forums, research and innovation competitions, and student project events. These included the Dubai International Pharmaceuticals and Technologies Conference and Exhibition (DUPHAT), the Lina Healthcare Conference, the Scientific Student Forum, the Wa’ed event, and the JadaThon Al-Jouf Hackathon, in addition to awards in innovation, the arts, and intellectual awareness.
The report also highlighted the College’s community and volunteer impact. It offered 497 volunteer opportunities involving 459 male and female volunteers, who completed 6,410 volunteer hours. Approximately 5,000 people benefited from 16 community responsibility activities. The College also implemented eight health and awareness initiatives and participated in ten international health days and events covering medication awareness, antimicrobial resistance, diabetes, breast cancer, first aid, and immunization.
The report outlined the College’s expansion of professional and research partnerships through three agreements with Al-Dawaa Medical Services Company, SPIMACO, and the Saudi Society for Medication Education. The College is also developing new partnerships to support applied training and scientific research and strengthen the alignment of its academic programs with the needs of the healthcare and pharmaceutical sectors.
His Excellency the University President affirmed that the College’s achievements reflect the strength of its academic, research, and student capabilities and demonstrate its commitment to quality, excellence, and creating a lasting impact across the community and healthcare sector. He emphasized the importance of continuing to develop academic programs, advance applied research and pharmaceutical innovation, expand partnerships with healthcare institutions and pharmaceutical industries, and equip students with the professional and research skills needed to enhance their readiness for the labor market.
His Excellency commended the efforts of the College’s leadership, faculty members, administrative staff, and students. He reaffirmed the University’s support for initiatives that advance the quality of pharmaceutical education, contribute to health and pharmaceutical security, and serve the objectives of national development and Saudi Vision 2030.
